Donna Mae Diemert (9/22/1933- 3/7/2024)
In the morning hours of March 7, 2024, at the young age of 90, Mom gained her angel wings and now rests peacefully in the loving arms of the Almighty Father.
Mom was born in Valley City, ND to Pauline and George Merkes and was the oldest of five children. While in High School, her family moved to Sanborn ND where she met her future husband, LeRoy Diemert. They were married April 21, 1953. In 1955, their first son, Michael, was born in Chester, MT. They moved to Pierre South Dakota and in 1957, Cindy was born. Traveling for employment took them to many states and in 1962, Patrick was born in Lewistown, MT. Following that time, the family lived a short time in Wyoming and various places throughout Minnesota until 1972. Finally, their love of the mountains brought them back to Montana. Mom worked in the kitchen at Columbia Falls High School for many years and enjoyed all the kids and loved attending Football and Basketball games. They left Montana for warmer climates and spent 18 years in Las Vegas, NV until Dad passed away in 2004.
In 2004, Mom moved to East Helena and was very active in her church. She assisted with funeral luncheons and took communion to the home bound for years. She loved sports and attended many Carroll College football games. She especially loved getting to watch her Granddaughter Katie play volleyball whenever she could. When Great Grandchildren started to play sports, she hardly ever missed the chance to travel to Manhattan Christian to watch their games or to attend music programs. Her last trip was in September 2023, to watch a football game.

Cindy and family, your Mom was an absolutely beautiful lady that was loved and treasured by many. When I moved to Helena in 2008, your Mom was the first person to reach out to me at church. She then introduced me to our Red Hats group, now known as Wacky Women. She always had big bright smile on her face, a twinkle in her eye, and a kind word for all. Rest in peace dear lady, you are truly missed.
