Aunt Donna always had time for her nieces and nephews. She bought me my first paper dolls and my first drink at Abby’s in Sisseton. I was probably four at the time so I think it was probably orange soda. Even after I was married I loved to visit with Uncle Shorty and Aunt Donna. She was a sweetheart and will live in my heart forever. Much Love to You All.

Every time I’ve seen or talked about Donna one memory jumps out above all others. When we were young, our family would go over to Shorty and Donna’s quite frequently. We helped pick rocks in their field, cared for horses, played in the canal in front of their place, fought with the neighbors down the road., etc. While visiting one time, I made a big mistake and asked Donna when she was going to have her baby. Problem was she was NOT pregnant. I was probably 10 or 11 years old at the time and she told me on the day I turned 13 she was going to slap me around for saying that to her, because I would be big enough at 13. She would remind me of that every time we’d go to visit. The closer my 13th birthday came the more worried I got. Of course my 13th birthday came and no beating came my way – just birthday wishes. Fun childhood memories!

Auntie Donna was the best. I used to love to visit her and Uncle Shorty…We had so many good times at the kitchen table..She was just hilarious..I remember her and I going to bingo at St.Katherines.I was so proud when I had a straight line bingo….when Donna informed me that
It was a coverall…Oh well, She almost knocked me out of my chair…It’s a coverall dummy…
I answered to Bingo for many years…I will miss you forever,,my sweet Auntie..RipXOXOXO

Debra, Paulette, Corliss and Peggy, and all.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Our sincere condolences to all of you.
My memories of Dona go back to the early 1950s, when she was living is Sisseton. I lived close by. I visited Shorty in the hospital there when he had the accident to his right hand. I remembered when Shorty and Donna married. Later in 1968, we moved to the Seattle rea and visited frequently with Shorty and Donna, and several of our Nigg relatives there. We were fortunate to maintain contact with Shorty and Dona after they moved to Montana. Donna was always so enjoyable to visit with.
Donna was always a lovely, outgoing and enjoyable lady. We will miss her very much.
Cousin Jerry.

I know she is in Heaven with uncle shorty. I always loved hearing her laugh, she always had a smile on her face. I’m so glad I took my Dad to see his sister last year. Much love to you all, I know she is having a merry time in Heaven, probably playing Bingo. We miss her so much.
Much Love,
Uncle Donald, and cousin Catherine Hormann
