Donna Marie Sinnott left us to go on without her on Feb. 25, 2022. She lived to be 91 although when asked she would deny her age was more than 89.
Born to Ethel and Jay Carr in Helena on October 28, 1930, and moving soon after to Butte where she went on to graduate from Butte High School in 1948. She began working as a Ma Bell switchboard operator, until she met and married Donald Sinnott, May 21, 1955 in Butte. She then lived in Spokane,WA for a few years as he furthered his architecture career and she began raising children and furthering her interest in art and interior design. Donna continued her interest in design as she worked with her husband on several remodels and buildings in Helena. The abandoned golf club house at Remini and the Rankin ranch became a major project and home for them and their four children. She also continued working as an interior designer in homes in the area. The duo also helped remodel and take care of Donna’s ailing mother, Ethel Mecredy, at her residence in the old parsonage on Fifth and Warren which eventually became a National Historic site.
She leaves behind her children Jay Sinnott and Nicole Sinnott (Bozeman. Montana), and son Jeffrey Sinnott of Anchorage, Alaska. Her husband, Donald and daughter Adrienne Sinnott Miller preceded her in death. Her beloved brother Gary Carr also went on before her.
Celebrating her life, while grieiving their loss, are her sister Dolly Ness (Newport,OR) and granddaughters Traci Taranik (Helena), and Emily Miller (Missoula), two great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
