In Memory Of

Doris Mae Sutheimer

November 13, 1925 – June 16, 2012

Doris Mae Sutheimer, 86, of East Helena passed away in the early morning hours of June 16th, 2012 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a very courageous battle with an extended illness.

Doris was born November 13, 1925 in Zap, N. D. to Katherine Wegerle. She grew up in Zap and in 1946 married Walter Sutheimer. Soon after, they (along with Doris’ mother) moved to Oregon and within a few years moved to Helena, MT. In their 23 year marriage they had two children, Delvin and Glen. Starting in the early 60’s they owned and operated Sutheimer School Bus Lines. Doris also worked for JC Penny’s, Northwest Bank, and the GSA Motor Pool until her retirement.

Doris’ life was spent dedicated to her family and friends. She was a very loving, kind and generous woman who always put others before herself. She loved the outdoors and always looked forward to spring so she could get out in the sunshine and enjoy her flowers.

When Doris was in her early 60’s a relationship began with her father, Rueben Ludwig Buchmann and half sister and brother and their families. She was very thankful to have them in her life and loved them dearly.
Doris was preceded in death by her son Del Sutheimer.

She is survived by her son Glen and daughter-in-law Shirley Sutheimer and their children, Ryan (Bekah) Sutheimer, Kasie (Craig) Vukasin, and Heather (Jason) Velasquez; Daughter-in-law Sheila Sutheimer and her and Del’s children, Cole Sutheimer, and Audi Sandberg; grandchildren, Levi Sutheimer, Jaylen, Alanna, Syler and Zade Velasquez, Sonny and Althea Sandberg; sister, Cleo (Ben) Wiedrich, and brother, Jim (Andrea) Buchmann.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 22nd at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. Reception will immediately follow in the social hall of the funeral home. Memorials in Doris’ name can be made to the Helena Food Share, PO Box 943, Helena, Montana 59624 or Lewis & Clark Humane Society, P.O. Box 4455, Helena, MT 59604.

May the family find comfort in fond memories and in knowing that God is “near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” (Psalm 34:18) Our loving Creator, Jehovah God, has promised to soon “swallow up death forever…and wipe the tears from all faces.” (Isaiah 25:8) With deepest sympathy.
