Doris Paus, age 78, of Great Falls formerly of Butte

Doris Knudsen Tyler Paus, age 78, of Great Falls, formerly of Helena,  passed away of natural causes of March 2, 2014.  Doris was born August 21, 1935 to George “Victor” and Mary Bibeau Knudsen in Phillips County, Montana.  Doris married James D. Tyler in Malta.  Doris worked at Malta’s Buttreys grocery store and after her divorce moved to Opheim taking a secretarial job with Rural Electric.  Here she met and married Royal Paus.  After several years they moved to Conrad and she worked in Conrad’s Buttrey’s store as a bookkeeper until she retired from there and worked as the Napa bookkeeper until Royal retired as a music teacher and they bought the Gambles hardware store, in Conrad.  A few years later they moved to Helena and she worked at Thriftway as their bookkeeper.  She was thrilled when her bowling team took first.  She loved playing cards, reading books, watching birds and squirrels, and having relatives visit.

Doris is preceded in death by her husbands; Jim Tyler and Royal Paus, her parents, brothers George and Donald Knudsen, one grandson Josh Habets, and two stillborn children, Clint and Debbie.

Doris is survived by three daughters, Bonda Tyler Habets of Spokane, WA, Connie Tyler Kochman of Great Falls, MT, and Kuni Paus Ricarrdi of Syracuse, NY as well as one son, Rick Paus of Roscoe, IL.  She is survived by twelve grandchildren; Jeremiah and Jared (Bonda), Nathan, Kalene Mangini, Shanei (Connie), Elizabeth, Ketti, David (Kuni) and Cameron, Derrick, Courtney, Kyle (Rick).   She is survived by five great-grandchildren; McCormick (Jared), Riley and Roxie (Kalene), Avery (Derrick) and Tucker (Cameron).  She is also survived by three sisters; Carolyn Judge, Donna Young, Marylou Young and four brothers; Lloyd, Lee, Carl and Clyde Knudsen, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

            Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6^th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating Doris’ life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave.  A reception will follow the memorial service in the social hall at the funeral home.
