Dorothy Patricia “Dorrie” Clark, age 85 of Montana City passed away Friday, January 28, 2011. Her family and loving friends were present.
Dorothy was born in Park Slope, Brookyn, New York on March 17, 1925 to Trygve and Julie (Ryan) Andersen. She was a graduate of James Madison High School in Brooklyn. In her younger years, Dorrie worked for Corn Products, Inc. in Manhattan, New York City.
Dorothy and William J. Clark were married November 12, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York. She was a devoted military wife to Bill, a U.S. Naval Captain and Naval Aviator for 24 years, spanning World War II, Korea, and the beginning of the Vietnam War. She was mother of U.S.A. Soldier, Sailor and Marine. She was a member of Cathedral of Saint Helena Parish. Dorrie was involved with and enjoyed her family, church, country, and aviary pursuits.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Julia and Trygve Andersen; son, USMC First Lieutenant Michael Christopher Clark, who died in the line of duty December 21, 1971; and her brother, Walter J. Andersen.
Dorrie is survived by her husband, William J. Clark of Montana City; son, William J. (Deborah) Clark III of Jacksonville, Florida; daughters, Carolyn Clark (Brian) Bielser of Dillon, MT, and Debra Clark (Paul) Dorrance of Helena, MT.
A Vigil service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 31 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be noon Tuesday, February 1 at the Cathedral of Saint Helena. Burial of her cremated remains will be in Long Island, New York in the summer.
Having met the staff of the Cancer Treatment Center of St. Pete’s five years ago, when she successfully handled a health challenge, memorials in Dorrie’s name are suggested to the Cancer Treatment Center at St. Peter’s Hospital, 2475 E.
