My condolences to Doug’s family. We were great friends growing up, but lost track of each other over the years. I didn’t know he had returned to the Helena area. Doug was an absolutely brilliant guy and it is sad to hear that he has passed away.

Daniel Brent, Doug’s nephew, shared that Doug was one of the kindest, most thoughtful people he had ever known & he pay attention to him & his sister as children. Dan said his Uncle Doug had influenced him to be a better person as well as to have critical thinking & a scientific point of view. Some of his fondest memories are of their time spent together.

What a shock to hear of Doug’s death. He was undoubtedly the smartest guy in our class at Helena High, and he was nice, too. I’m not surprised at his multiple degrees. I would have loved to have seen him again.
