It is with great sorrow that Drew K. Routzahn, age 87, of East Helena, passed away September 22, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.
Drew was born in Anaconda, MT January 16, 1931 to Kenneth and Mable Routzahn. He attended Helena High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Blanche Lees, and graduated in 1948. Drew and Blanche were married on Oct. 8, 1949 and had three beautiful children who were the most important part of their lives.
Drew joined the Navy, but was immediately discharged with a medical condition. He worked many jobs throughout his career, and retired from the State of Montana as a Senior Programmer Analyst after 30 years.
Drew was a devoted husband and father who loved to travel, fish, bowl, play golf and most importantly attend University of Montana football games. During his life he was a member of many service organizations, including the Knights of Columbus where he was recently active, and a Fourth Degree Knight. Drew will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
Drew was preceded in death by his loving wife, Blanche (2007), and his grandson, Daniel Sparks (1978).
Drew is survived by his sister Bev Schmidt of Helena; children, Keith (Chris) Routzahn of Helena, Michelle (Danny) Money of Helena, Kenneth (Pam) Routzahn of Butte; grandchildren, Keri (Tomas) Maes, Kalli (Jerry) Kind, Kurt (Hilde) Routzahn, Jae Routzahn, Lloyd (Bandie) Sparks, Danielle (Zach) Hewitt; great-grandchildren, Emilie Maes, Janie Maes, Katie Maes, Ava Kind, Ella Kind, Kaden (Cheyenne) Routzahn, Kenzie Routzahn, Haylie Wolf, Kimberly Wolf, Aluna Sparks, Marissa Money and Maria Money-Hewitt; great-great-granddaughter, RaeLee Routzahn; nephews Scot Schmidt, Doug Schmidt, Brad Schmidt and Becky Fitzpatrick niece and many cousins to at least name Dave (Betty) Routzahn, Dave (Cyndi) Routzahn, Ron Routzahn, Randy Routzahn, Londa Routzahn, Nan Wheatley, and Pam Martinez.
Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2018 at S S Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 120 W Riggs St, in East Helena. Burial will follow at Forestvale Cemetery. A reception will be held following the burial, at Stoney Brook Village Club House, Montana City, MT at 3:00 p.m. all are invited.
