MELBOURNE, Fla. — Anna Finley was called home to her heavenly father on July 29, 2013, in Melbourne, Fla. Anna was born Oct. 24, 1912, in Cass County, Mo., to John and Edna Alley. In 1932, she married her high-school sweetheart, George (Buck) Finley, and they moved to Montana in 1939. They moved to York, where he was employed by the Golden Messenger Mine, then moved to Helena in 1942. Anna was employed in the lunch room in the Mitchell Building.
Anna was a 30-year member of the Sapphira Nile No. 79, Josephine Hepner No. 89, the Nile Ornamental Band as well as the Women’s Club.
She enjoyed quilting and making Christmas ornaments for her entire family each year. She made quilts for all of the children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was having her family around her — the more the merrier.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two daughters, Carol Tuggle and Linda Henry; as well as two sons-in-law, Bob Middlestead and Tom Henry. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Middlestead; and son, Robert Finley; daughter-in-law, Dorothy(Truswell) Finley; a son-in-law, Felix Tuggle; 13 grandchildren;22 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
