November 3, 1931 – July 8, 2012

Edna May Johnson, beloved mother, and great-great grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the age of 80.

Edna was born November 3rd, 1931, in Cascade, Montana to Margaret (Oliver) and Russell Tintinger. Edna attended schools in Great Falls, Ulm and Boulder Montana.

Edna and her husband Mel owned a small farm east of Helena where they raised 13 children and resided until October of 2006.

Edna was very active in community activities to include the East Helena Recreation Council, VFW Post 10010 Ladies Auxiliary, 4-H, Girl Scouts and Home Extension Club to name a few. She hosted many memorable events on the farm in particular community fishing derbies. Later in Edna’s busy life she took up selling Avon products. She was a very successful Avon Lady especially for someone who didn’t wear makeup herself. She finally quit ringing the doorbell last year after a 40 year career.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mel, daughter Alice, daughter and son-in-laws: Renee Johnson, Richard Stein, Edward Molyneaux and grandson: Matthew Lindner.

Edna is survived by children and in-laws: Donald, Dick Lewis, Bertha Stein, Margaret (Vern) Miller, Carol Molyneaux, Thomas, Cynthia (Jimmy) Wollenberg, David (Brenda), Steven, Edward (Millie), Dora (Mike) Lindner, Lora, and Melva (Keith) Fowler. She is also survived by 35 grandkids, 26 great grandkids, 2 great-great grandkids, Brothers: Don (Carolyn), Ken (Dee), Wes (Katy) Tintinger, half-sisters: Bette (Gordon) Hoven, June (John) Sine, Jan McGee, adopted sister Jean (Dan) Carson and sister-in-law Dolores (Lori) Johnson.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, 1400 Stuart St., with a reception to follow the service at the church. Private burial will follow the reception at Castner Falls Cemetery outside of Cascade. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Landscaping project of Our Redeemers Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice. I am saddened to learn of Edna’s passing. She was a wonderful lady and I enjoyed her stories and seeing her smiling face when she would come into the office. She was my Avon lady for many years and I know I was one of her last customers before she became ill. I am truly sorry for your loss and my heartfelt sympathy to all.
