Edward Charles Beveridge
Edward Charles Beveridge, 53, passed away on June 26, 2017 at Community Hospital of Anaconda after a sudden heart attack.
Ed was born July 5, 1963, in Helena to Charles and Marie Beveridge. He was the fourth of five children. He attended Helena schools and graduated from Helena High School. At a young age, he possessed a natural talent for long distance running, and at his peak he competed at the junior national level. Ed liked photography, spending time outdoors with friends and family, playing guitar, and electronics. After high school, he attended the Helena Vo-Tech and graduated from the Electronics program. He went on to attend Montana State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (EEET).
Along with his passion for electronics and electrical engineering, Ed had a love of aircraft. He served in the 120th Fighter Interceptor Group, Montana Air National Guard, as an Avionic Attack Control Technician on the F-16 Fighting Falcons. Prior to that he was an Aircraft Weapons Control Technician on the F-106 Delta Darts. While he was a student at MSU he took flying lessons, and he earned an FAA private pilot’s license. Ed spent countless hours flying around the beautiful Gallatin Valley. He also worked for Arlin’s Aircraft Service in Belgrade, and later for Helena Aircraft Inc.
In 1990, Ed’s life was tragically altered when his plane crashed at Gallatin Field. He suffered a traumatic brain injury which changed the course of his life. He fought a courageous battle with his brain injury for 27 years. He never gave up hope that he could one day live independently and work in his field again. We are grateful for the outstanding care and love shown to him by so many dedicated professionals at Warm Springs State Hospital, and through previous care and rehabilitation in Bozeman, Billings, and Helena. We know this is not an ending but a new beginning for Ed, as he is with the Master Aviator having the time of his life.
Ed was preceded in death by his father Charles L. Beveridge. He is survived by his mother Marie Sloan (Newton Sloan) of Boulder, MT; brothers Doug Beveridge (Linda) of Whitefish, and Greg Beveridge (Beth) of East Helena; sisters Mary Beveridge and Meg Schnaderbeck of Helena; Aunt Audrey Pierce of San Jose, CA; nieces Danielle Beveridge, Gabby Beveridge, Emily Beveridge, of East Helena and Sarah Schnaderbeck of Helena; nephews Justin Beveridge of Las Vegas, NV, Alex Beveridge, of Helena; Zach Beveridge, and Dillon Beveridge of East Helena, and many cousins.
A memorial service, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A reception will follow the service in the social hall of the funeral home. Memorials in Ed’s name are suggested to the Helena College Foundation, Aviation Scholarships, 1115 N. I was blessed as a young girl to have Ed come in to mine and my families life. He always had a smile, laugh and a story for me. He and my brother Jay were always finding ways to keep me from tagging along. When Ed was in Billings after his accident I would stop by after work many days at the hospital to visit. Even then, as he was rehabilitating, he knew me, he always smiled and gave me the biggest hugs. Peace to his Family. He will always be My “Burt Reynolds” as affectionately remembered by me and my mom. RIP Soldier, May you Soar High With the Wind.

Beveridge family,
I’m so sorry to learn of Ed’s recent passing. I met Ed during his younger days as a distance runner, he and I had several battles on the track and cross country courses during our middle school and early high school days. He was without doubt an interesting character. Melissa said it best in that he could light up a room just by entering it.
Ed, RIP.

Eddy tt 500, I hope the f250 they give you in heaven runs better than the one you got here on earth. I always picture you holding the differential on your chest trying to get the bolts back in it. Thanks for keeping me sane, for being a great friend, and for being so originally you. They broke the mold after they made you buddy. God speed, Julio.

Beveridges
I met Ed in middle school and from that point on through high school and college we terrorized Helena along with our parents
Some of the memories include Eds first time jumping off the cliffs and forgetting to straighten his legs, his thighs looked like hamburger, to taking my truck up the tizers and starting to slip backwards Ed thought he could
Stop my truck and jumped out the door caught on the snow bank and folded it against the truck and that’s how it stayed all the way home
Ed
Thank you for your friendship and all the great memories god bless until we can laugh again together

Oh, how I’ve always loved the Beveridges! The whole family always made me feel special. That was because they themselves are such special people. It was a true privilege and joy to teach three of Chuck’s and Marie’s children in science. And catching rattlesnakes with Chuck was one of my favorite memories; Chuck had the best eyes for them and I had great ears …a great rattler team.
Thank you for the many joys your family gave me! We know Ed is home now, but we’ll sure miss him here. Peace and Love,
Bob

Both my mother and I were saddened to hear that Ed had passed away. He was a gorgeous, bright & personable young man with so much potential, largely unrealized due to his tragic injury. Our condolences to Marie and the entire Beveridge family who showed him such love and care during the years after his accident. Peace be with you.

Patricia Phillips- Engler says
I was so very sad to hear about the passing of Ed. As a close friend of Mary’s, in our younger days I would always be over at the Beveridge home and got to know Ed. I was always amazed at how ‘movie star handsome’ he was, and at his sense of humor and driven, zest for life. I witnessed the tragedy of his accident and the effect it had on both he and his family, and also the outpouring of love and support which surrounded Ed by his family through the years. Ed, you have earned your wings in heaven now. Peace be with the family during this time of loss.
Wendy Eaton says
