Edward J. (Eddie Joe) Kinsey was diagnosed with cancer in October and was determined to kick cancer’s butt just as he did five years ago. Sadly, in this round there were too many complications and he passed away on February 13, 2023.
Ed was born March 30, 1953, to Chester and Sylvia Kinsey joining his two older sisters Nona and Deva and was later joined by two little sisters Paula and Mary. It’s not hard to figure out why Ed laid claim to being his mom’s favorite son.
Ed married Connie (Burgess) on August 8, 1987 and became a dad to Connie’s two children Lester and Michelle Burgess. He later became “grampa Ed” a title that he dearly loved, to Lester’s children Sarah and Alan.
Ed was a farm boy all the way and although he did attend trade school for mechanics in Phoenix after high school, he eventually made it back to the farm and made it his life. He had so many talents and skills ranging from raising cattle, haying, big tree moving and being the mechanic and go to guy for helping repair tractors, balers, swathers. You name it he usually had just the right part.
Ed is survived by his wife Connie, children Lester (Mary Ann) and Michelle, grandchildren Sarah of Georgia (great-grandchildren E.J., Skye and Elli) and Alan (Robert) of Portland, sisters Nona Patterson and Mary (Curt) Stanghill of Elliston, Aunt Dodie Ridenour, brother in-law Glen Trebas, many nieces and nephews and cousins, sisters, and brothers-in-law, and his many dear Early Bird Friends and life-long friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his father Chet and mother Sylvia, sisters Paula Morse and Deva Trebas, and his niece Memori Walter.
A memorial service is planned for this summer at Ed’s home.

Ed hayed for us and gave my husband Greg many hours of advice and just conversation. I only met him a few times but whenever I ran into him he remembered who I was (Greg’s wife). We waved often as he headed in for his morning breakfast/coffee with the guys. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family.

Ed was our across-the-street neighbor growing up and he remained a true friend to my parents throughout the years. You would find him driving his 4-wheeler over to get the mail and he loved to stop and chat. My husband and I recently moved back into the neighborhood and he stopped over a few times and we shared some fun stories. He was a kind soul and will be missed by so many. Hugs to Connie and the rest of the family.

If we were to describe him with one word it would be Selfless. It’s been an honor to know him for over 20+ years. His knowledge and problem solving skills for fixing farm equipment was unmatched, to say the least. We will smile whenever we say his name. God bless!

Connie, Mary, Michele and family. What can I say about a great childhood neighbor who would put up with his little sister Mary, and her two crazy tag along friends from across the road. Ed was the type of person who was always there for everyone. Whether it was helping with a broken hay baler, chasing a loose cow, or finding that special bolt or wrench in his shop, he was always the first one to come to the rescue. He truly was help on a four-wheeler. I want to especially thank Ed for his support in looking out for my folks, helping make them feel comfortable in their home, during their last years. May we honor his life, by lending a helping hand to others, just as he did throughout his years.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Rest In Peace Ed.

Ed was always there when I needed help with haying, finding hay, or obtaining a 4H steer for my kids, even loaning halters for them to show in. My extended family went to school with him and always considered him a friend, too. Will truly miss you, Ed.

My condolences and prayers go out to Ed’s family! I am deeply saddened and yet emotional happy that this sweet, kindhearted, caring man has passed on! Much gratitude to our Great and Merciful God that sent his Son Jesus Christ to take away pain suffering and give us Eternity forever with Him without sin and a Everlasting place in his Kingdom to share with others that suffer in this body as well! I really loved Ed. He was always smiling when he came into Costco! I always asked him when I was at the gas pumps working Ed. What are u doing today? He said fueling up and got my honey do list for my wife! I later met his daughter that always helped him and she was so sweet just like him! I was always so grateful I saw him when I did! Strong man!! I luved the hugs he gave and I luved being able to help him in anyway to make things easier in the store. Hopefully I gave him what is not always famous but a smile on my face! Hope the family understands that a fathers luv is unconditional! Luv Amanda
