Edwin R. Mitchell, Jr. of Lincoln, passed away June 1, 2012 at the Hillside Health Care Center in Missoula, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Ed was born the son of Richard and Dorothea (Johnson) Mitchell on September 26, 1936 in Great Falls. He was raised in Great Falls working for the family construction business and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1953. He received a BS degree from Montana State College in 1960 and worked with the C.E. Mitchell & Sons Construction from 1960 until 1991. He was married to Margaret Kerkes in March of 1959 in Great Falls and together they raised their daughter and son.
Ed was involved in his community by belonging to the Masonic organization, the Shrine Club and Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Nancy (John) Duncan of Helena and their children, John (Candice) of Helena and Kari of Florida; son, Craig Mitchell (Dee) of Great Falls and their children, Chad of Billings and Katlyn of Flagstaff, AZ; sister, Barbara (Lee) Armstrong of Great Falls; two great-grandchildren and one more due this month.
