In Memory Of

Elias W. Bowe, age 17 of Helena

March 9, 2004 – June 5, 2021

Elias (Eli) William Bowe, 17 of Helena, Mont., passed away on June 5, 2021 at Canyon Ferry Reservoir.

Eli was born March 9, 2004 to Laura Hendley and Jude Bowe in Helena, where he went on to attend Jim Darcy Elementary School, Helena Middle School, and Helena High School.

Eli was a kind and thoughtful young man and a great friend and older brother. Eli and his brother, Amos, were extremely close. They were always there for each other and enjoyed playing video games and watching movies together.

Eli enjoyed spending time with friends and family, including camping, hiking, fishing, playing with the dogs, and being on the farm. He enjoyed going hunting with his father every fall and spending time at the cabin in Lincoln.

Eli is survived by his mother, Laura Hendley, her partner, Anthony Gordon, his brother, Amos Bowe, his father, Jude Bowe, his stepmother, Mary Bowe, and his siblings, Charlotte and Henry Bowe, as well as his great-grandmother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Like many teenage boys, Eli was enthusiastic about cars. He loved participating in automotive class at Helena High School, and the family believes passing along Eli’s love for cars is a way to honor his memory for years to come. They request any gifts be directed to the GoFundMe page at the link below. All donations will go to the automotive class at Helena High School.

I remember my freshman year he would always hang out with our big group that would always hang out by the tiger in front of the school by the front office. I didn’t know him at that time, last summer I met him for the first time and we where talking and I was telling him that I have never been hunting. We where trying to plan a hunting trip but sadly we stopped talking then I found out about his passing and it just broke my heart we didn’t get that hunting trip we where planning.

Eli was such a good trooper about sharing his room when I came to visit for our hikes. I remember his cheeks redden when he went to go see his girfriend. He was so proud of the winter dog houses he built for the dogs. He was on the quiet side but when he spoke it was profound. His brain was constantly going. Eli was a very brave soul and cared about those around him.

Paolina remembers playing with the boys in Anne & Conrad’s hammock with Tobin and how Eli so wanted her to speak Spanish to him – he was probably better than she was then. Sending you so much love and strength.

It was a beautiful and moving tribute to Eli’s life – I will remember him also and the love of those surrounding him, although I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person. Sharing in your grief and sending love from California.
