Elizabeth “Liz” Vercellin, age 70, of East Helena, passed away on February 8, 2018 after a long battle with several illnesses. She was born in Townsend on January 31, 1948 to Brice and Rebecca Vercellin
Liz was raised as a small child in Toston and graduated from Helena High School. In 1972 Liz moved to East Helena and was a claims specialist for the State of Montana. Liz’s hobbies included quilting, photography, sci-fi, crafting bird houses and bowling. She was on the women’s bowling league for several years.
Liz is survived by her four-legged, furry child, Stubby (her beloved kitty and roommate). She is also survived by her adoptive family, Dave Simpkins, his daughter, Sarah Simpkins & Brandon McClain and their seven children, Alex Simpkins, Anthony, Ayden, Ashton, Ayrian (her little man), Averey (Baby man), and Aliviya (her sweet little girl) McClain.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Brice and Rebecca (Blackwell) Vercellin, her sister, Maryanne (Max) Siems, and aunt, Anna Vercellin.
Viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave., Helena. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20th at Forestvale Cemetery in Helena. A reception will follow the burial in the social hall of Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave., Helena.
