In Memory Of

Eva Alzoa St. Clair

December 31, 1928 – April 12, 2011

Eva (Ross) St. Clair, 82, passed away on April 12, 2011 at St. Peter’s Hospital after an extended battle with cancer.

Eva was born Eva Alzoa Bock on December 31, 1928 to Lomer T. and Ethel Mae Bock in Laurin, Montana. She attended schools in Laurin, Robber’s Roost, and Alder, Montana, graduating from Virginia City High School in 1947. After high school, Eva attended nursing school in Butte, Montana.

She married Bruce (Bud) Allen Ross January 22, 1949 in Helena at St. Paul’s Methodist Church. Three children were born of this marriage: Linda Lorraine, Laurie Ann, and Lawrence (Larry) Scott. During their 30 year marriage, Bud and Eva created many wonderful memories that primarily centered on friends and family. On August 18, 1978, Bud died suddenly from a massive heart attack at age 53.

Eva married Kenneth Raymond St. Clair on September 12, 1981. For 23 years, they enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada in their motor home. Ken and Eva wore out two motor homes in all the travels and adventures they shared together. Ken always joked, “as soon as they build a bridge to Hawaii, we will be the first to drive across it.” Ken died October 26, 2004.

Eva worked for J.C. Penney Company from 1962 to 1970, and then at Montana Physicians Service as a claims evaluator and processor from 1970 until her retirement in 1983.

She enjoyed making music with the accordion, piano, and keyboard. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, collecting bells, gardening, and having company. Her dog Jo was a special companion to her for the last six years.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda (Bryce) Young, Laurie (Kevin) Irish, and Larry (Jeannette) Ross; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three brothers and their spouses.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 20 at the Helena Alliance Church, 1030 Choteau St. Interment service will be 1:30 p.m. at Forestvale Cemetery. Memorials in Eva’s name are suggested to the Cancer Treatment Center of St. Peter’s Hospital 2475 Broadway Street Helena, Montana 59601 or to the Lewis & Clark Humane Society P.O. Box 4455, Helena, MT 59604.Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.aswfuneralhome.com.

Linda – So sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. I was very thankful she was our Girl Scout leader in Junior High. I did not appreciate her taking the time out of her busy schedule to do that for us. I realized later that she was a very special woman to do that for us. I hope her passing was peaceful. I, too, have cancer and am fighting the battle of my life.

My sincerest condolences to you and your family.
