We first met George when he and Bill worked together at the phone company in McKinney. He and Bill became instant friends and we spent many weekends at our apartment laughing and listening to his stories or playing at the park at midnight.

He was one of the nicest guys we’ve ever met and will be missed.

For as little as he had in life, he never stopped caring and giving all his love to his kids. Words cannot begin to express how much we all will miss him. I’ll never forget the important lessons and memories he blessed me with, and I can only hope to be half as great of a man and he was, he was so strong and determined to fight to be with his family for even just one more day. I don’t know where you’ve ended up Dad, but I know you’ll always be in the hearts and memory of your loved ones. Thank you for raising me to be the man I am, and next time we meet, I’ll bring the beers.

Dad, you taught me how to do some amazing things with my hands, you taught me how to work on cars, helped me when I felt helpless picked me up when I needed it, always made me laugh with your silly voices and jokes I never wanted to admit how much I needed that. How much you helped me grow. Thank you for being my dad. I’ll miss you more than I’ll ever let on because I can’t bring myself to admit that you’re gone. I’d give anything to have one more day with you dad. I’ll do my best to take care of loose ends with mom. I’ll see you again dad someday, I’m looking forwards to all the new songs you’ve come up with for this situation.

Grief can be so hard, but our cherished memories help us to cope. Hold tight to those memories. Lean on each other for support. And may you find comfort in God’s promise at Isaiah 41:10.
