Gerald (Jerry) Raymond Reisbeck
Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and friend was called home to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 26,2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 13th, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elizabeth H. and Raymond Robert Reisbeck. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married the love of his life, Sheila Powell, on January 14, 1961. He is the Father of 7 Children, Grandfather to 14 Grandchildren, and 10 Great Grandchildren. He attended schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from Bountiful High School in Utah. Jerry excelled at everything he did in life with a passion! He was an excellent student and an extremely hard worker. He was an Eagle Scout at the early age of 13. He was very athletic in school; a valuable member of the Football and Track Teams. He loved music, dancing, apple pie, chocolate cokes, dill pickles, playing cards, boating, weekends at the cabin, and crab. He was a member of the Utah Army Reserve in earlier days. He became an Insurance Agent in 1966 with Farmers Insurance and became one of the top Commercial producers in the state of Utah. In 1974 he and Sheila moved to Helena, Montana with their family to become one of the top District Manager’s with Farmers Insurance. He received many awards and accolades including the highest award, President’s Council. He received recognition as the top recruiting District Manager in the Region. He was always recruiting wherever he went…. out to dinner, the bank, and among friends. This lead to him recruiting his Brother, Dixon and Sister, Lynda along with three of his sons, Kelly, Kasey, and Kirk into the insurance business. He was highly regarded as one of the most knowledgeable people in the insurance industry. Always busy, never one to sit still, he decided in 1982 that Helena needed something for young girls to do to keep busy and develop their athletic abilities. Helena did not have anything available at the time for girls, so thus began the journey of his and Sheila’s dance/drill team “RAZZLE DAZZLES”. He was always so proud of the many teams that he developed; reaching up to 60 members in the Helena area. Teams were expanded to Bozeman, Townsend, and Butte, MT. Razzle Dazzles received many first-place trophies in competitions and parades. They performed numerous times at half time for the Utah Jazz along with the Seattle Seahawks, Supersonics, University of Montana, Montana State University and many Universities throughout the west and including local High Schools. He was recently nominated for recognition for his outstanding contribution to Montana communities for his development, time and energy in regards to the Razzle Dazzles. Jerry and his wife Sheila were the original founders of the Festival of Trees which was a fundraising event for the Razzle Dazzles. Jerry was a very unselfish individual in which he would do what he could to try to help others. He along with his wife created a loving and caring environment for foster children for 17 years. He always enjoyed getting together with the family on Holidays and going out for dinner; always the life of the party! Family was very important to him. He could strike up a conversation with anyone; making friends wherever he went.
Jerry was preceded in death by his Mother and Father; Sister in Law, Judy Reisbeck; Nephew, Dustin Cheney and Niece, Reagan Cheney.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sheila; Sons, Kevin (Toni); Kelly (Jody); Kasey (Tabatha); Kirk (Heather); Kimball (Tasa); Desiree (Don); and Lindsay. He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Brother, Dixon of Layton, Utah; Sister, Lynda of Helena; Sister in Law, Peg (Paul) of Layton, Utah; and Sister in Law Debbie (Scott) of Brigham City, Utah. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
