“A Life Well Lived” Having missed her 95th Birthday by only 4 days, Gladdie was active until the day she peacefully left this earth to join her husband Don in Heaven. She was born at home at the top of Rodney Street to Jens & Lone Petersen, who were both born in Denmark before meeting and settling in Helena.
Gladdie was a fun loving gal her whole life & loved to tell stories of her shenanigans with friends growing up.
She met Don in Townsend after he left the Navy. They immediately fell in love & were married on Sept. 9, 1950.
They took great pride in their house & yard, creating the perfect home together. Gladys worked at the phone company until their children, Steve & Sandy came along. Then she put all her energy into raising her family with a strong work ethic, manners and appreciation for nature. Love & support were given as was a passion to stay active and a healthy sense of humor.
Gladys was proud of being a “Strong Dane” & she was passionate about local issues. She worked hard to help get laws passed in local government.
Her love of nature was reflected in her beautiful oil paintings. She became quite an accomplished artist. She & Don enjoyed traveling to local Art fairs with her paintings. Her work was also showcased in the Cason gallery, the State Capitol, the Carroll College bookstore and local businesses.
Gladdie loved playing pinochle and made the best pies & cookies! She often said, “I just love people”.
She is survived by son Steve (Cindy) Helena, MT; daughter Sandy (Dave Graf) Hauser,ID; grandsons Tucker, Sunland, CA & Lance (Devony) Hillsboro, OR and beloved nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jens and Lone Petersen, husband Don Inman & older brothers Kenneth Petersen (Marilyn, Jackie) & Howard Petersen (Dorothy)
We love you Mom and say, “See you later” not “Goodbye”.

I am sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I met Gladdie when i was invited to join the pinochle group years ago. What fond memories I have of those card games. I remember she would always look at her hand and say, “This is the worst hand ever.” and then take most of the tricks. She was a delight. I remember her fondly.

I spent a lot of time at the Inman house in the 70’s during our high school years. Steve and I were always working on a car or a bike and Gladys always made sure we had a good lunch. There was always something interesting happening in the garage. Don and Gladys were kind people. When I think of my youth, the Inmans always come to mind. Many a night I fell asleep on their couch and when Sandy came home, Glagys would whisper to her to be quiet so as to not disturb me. As soon as they went down the hall I would split for home.
Hugs to Steve and Sandy and all the family.
