On Tuesday November 27th, 2018, Gladys passed away peacefully at the Beehive Assisted Living in Helena, MT. She was 88 years old.
Mom was born on January 21, 1930 in Belle Fourche, SD. She was the seventh of nine children born to Harry and Hazel (Widdoss) Helmer. She had six sisters and two brothers.
She grew up and attended school in Spearfish, SD. After graduating from high school, she met and married Donald Everhard on July 27, 1949. They lived in Lead, SD. They were married for 66 years, until Donald’s death in 2015.
They welcomed four children together; Glen, Gary, Mikeal and Dawn. Mom had some jobs along the way but her most important was being a wife and a wonderful mother.
In 1974, they packed up and moved to Helena, MT due to a career change for Donald. After retiring in 1990, they traveled between a summer cabin in Canada, and St George UT, for warmer winters. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing. Mom was a member of the Rebekah’s, Moose and Elks Club.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Gary, son-in-law; Bruce and ALL of her sisters and brothers. She was the last of a long legacy.
Gladys is survived by son’s Glen (Ellie), Mikeal (Roxanne) and daughter Dawn as well as all of their children, and many grand and great-grandchildren.
Momma – Thank you for all the love, wisdom and memories that we’ve shared. You will always be in our hearts. The family wishes to also offer a special thank you to the staff at Beehive Assisted Living for always being kind, warm and welcoming.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. in Helena. Dear Family
I’m sorry for your loss and I pray for your comfort. Please keep in mind that our Heavenly Father and God promises he will resurrect those who are sleeping in death. ( John 5:28,29) This means they will come back to life and we will see them again.
Until that day comes, look to Jehovah God for comfort ( 2 Corinthians 1:3,4) He will never fail you.
