Tom Mulvaney says
Glenda was a very good teacher and our friendship goes all the way back to 1972
when we taught together at the Clinton St. School (now Radley School) in East Helena. We
were stationed in the basement, along with Mr. Fradette and Mrs. Siroky, as I recall,
and Del Harris ran the library. Upstairs were Mr. Covey, Mr. Bell, Mrs. Anderson,
Mr. Martinelli, Ms. Hagler, Mr. Kemp, Mr. Fisher, Mr. Mayala and Bob Gilmer was our principal.
I know I am leaving out a number of teachers, but suffice to say that Glenda was
a favorite amongst the staff, mainly because she always let you know what she thought
and her sense of humor was top notch.
Helena antiquers and collectors will probably remember Glenda for the many estate
and garage sales that Glenda and Margaret put on over the years. They also were
regulars at Tori Jane’s Antique Shows at the Civic Center for many years.
After Glenda suffered a stroke about ten years ago, she kept plugging away with
incredible bravery. With the support of her loving husband Bruce, and her family and
friends, she still carried on with many of the activities she loved.
Many of the retired East Helena teachers meet for lunch monthly at the Hardware Cafe
in Montana City. Glenda and Bruce often attended, allowing Glenda to tell and enjoy
stories and wax nostalgia with her fellow teachers.
Glenda was a brave lady and a great lady and I will really miss here.
Scott Stallings says
Mrs. Buckley cared about her students like few other teachers. I was in the Lewis & Clark County and Montana state spelling bees the year she taught my English class in 8th grade. She gave up two Saturdays toncome and watch me and dozens of other kids spell in an auditorium for hours. Nobody else outside my family was willing to sacrifice their time for me like she was. She inspired me to do my best in her class and in life and I eventually went on to become a physician and officer in the US Air Force for many years before entering in private practice. I credit her as one of my influences in believing in myself enough to dream big and go after those dreams and achieve them. Thank you Mrs. Buckley, may you Rest In Peace.

Patrick Schmidt says
I have many memories of Mrs. Buckley as a very kind (and sometimes quite strict!) English teacher. She demanded much, encouraged us, and told us to dream. You had a great impact on many of our lives. Rest in Peace.
JoAnn (Frank) Eaton says
Glenda, when we met in Wickenburg, AZ. I knew we would be instant and forever friends. Always forthright in your actions and thoughts, a loyal friend, and accepting of all. A true what you see is what you get person. The fun times and get togethers we had with laughing fits I will always treasure. You deserve eternal peace and rest from the pain you suffered with such grace. I miss you. I wear the ring of friendship you gave me proudly with love and remembrance.
