Glenn Gustav Greve, born September 3, 1946 was sung to heaven by ten little angels on March 3, 2015. In his heart his real name was Granpa, Grandpa, GPaw, or Old T.
Glenn was raised on a farm by Pender, NE and attended country school at District 54 through the eighth grade and he graduated from High School in Pender. Glenn was a member of the Lutheran Church where he was confirmed. Following school he worked several jobs before proudly serving his country in Vietnam with the US Army.
Glenn returned home, married Jeannine Heimann, and of this marriage they had two children, Justin and Amy.
Glen had a passion for rodeo; he was involved in every aspect. He moved to Montana for the beauty and ruggedness where he flourished. In 1996 Glenn met Julie whom he later married. Through this marriage he became an instant grandpa to Dani Primmer. He was soon joined by nine more little angels; Jacob John Little, Saige Morgan Bushilla, Walker Daniell Ator, Mackinna Jo Bushilla, Jordynn Amy Greve, Conner Gustav Greve, Meg Elizabeth Ator, Zoe Beth Ator and finally Jaz Christopher Ator. Glenn loved them so much. He taught them valuable lessons such as to forgive, be happy, be respobsible, how to give love and how to be better human beings.
He was blessed with many friends…too many to mention them all, but his closest and dearest friend was Richard Maphies; he made Glenn’s life easier and filled it with laughter. Glenn had a knack for helping people believe in themselves and was always there to support them in times of need. When people came into Glenn’s life they left richer in spirit.
He was generous to a fault, loved every day and lived life to its fullest; he worked hard and unconditionally loved his grandchildren and will forever live in our hearts.
Yes, Honey, it was a wild ride. Your little philly, Julie. (Forever Kemosabe)

Glenn has been more like a brother to me than a cousin at different periods of my life.
Although he has lived several states away from us for quite awhile, I will miss thinking about him sharing his life with Julie and the rest of his family in Montana. With Glenn, we could always count on some mischief along with whatever else was going on. Gosh, there were some good times when he lived back in Nebraska. Larry and I enjoyed a trip to Montana and a visit with Glenn & Julie a few years back. (We got to visit with Justin and his young ones too!) What wonderful hospitality!
Once Glenn gave my sons a lariat, so they could learn to be proper cowboys. Practice they did, until one day they got one! That is- one of our landlords feedlot cattle! We had quite the rodeo ourselves, trying to get that steer to a place where we could get the rope off of him. We eventually ended up snubbing him to a post & having to cut the rope. Those boys were just sick.
He may be gone from sight, but never from our hearts.
Julie, Justin, & Amy: May you find comfort in remembering happy times shared, and knowing that others are holding you close in caring thoughts and prayer.

Glen the last time I saw you I called you for coffee in Missoula, Saddly you were broke down on the freeway and it was about 10 below Zero. I drove the truck as hard as I dared to rescue you as the shop didn’t seem to care that you had been there for hours. You were so cold that morning you couldn’t hardly walk across the freeway. I am so glad I called you that morning…Take care buddy and don’t worry about the dents in the Gitney any more or the traffic cone taped to it’s roof…You know we loved yanking your chain back..Take care Buddy!

Farren Flynn says
Glen and I became friends in 1983 and that friendship grew steadily over the years. One of my favorite stories about Glen was he had bought a road grader in Marysville so he and I want up to look at it. The engine was removed, it had one brake working and the parking brake worked so we decided we could tow it to my place to install the engine. We decided he would drive the grader and I would drive the pickup with my son Joseph Flynn with me.
We started down the road and instantly we lost the one brake that worked but still had the park brake and at that point on a down hill run. We made it about another mile and lost the parking brake and started picking up speed. Glen was waving his hat until he needed both hands but he was just coasting now. I was keeping slack in the chain in the hope it would come off so I wouldn’t be the first to the wreck with him following. It finally came off and with glens skills he navigated all the way down the road often well over 30mph and no power steering with the whole grader jumping up and down. The grader finally stopped on the flats, Glen got out and sat on the step, looked at me and said “WOW!! , I haven’t felt that kind of a rush since NAM.” We then rebuilt the brake master cylinder and continued the journey. When i think of Glen , I always remember the time he was parked on the Lake Helena Causeway with a load of hay, he was talking to some friends and I came driving up behind him honking my horn and yelling to get out of the way , joking. He came stomping over to my truck and I got out as everyone was expecting a fight and he walked up and we shook hands and slapped each other on the backs laughing. What a guy , never a dull minute, you will be missed!!! I am so sorry for your loss Julie, call me if you ever need anything , I’ll be there. Mike Pasztor

Glenn I will sorely miss you. So many years ago we were like brothers. It was great when you stayed with my folks inWest Point. So many memories when we were young and crazy. The old 53 Chevy, the 61 Ford oil burner and how you smoked out the City Policeman when he had you rev it up. The dances in Oakland so many good times. I feel like a piece of me has been torn out. Julie you dont know me but if you wish to contact me I would be glad to share the many adventures we had here in Ne. I was the first one Glenn looked up when he came back from Nam. I was stationed in Calif. then. He was and still is my Best friend, nothing will ever change that. I didnt know we lost him till now. Sorry–Rod Tomrdle, Fremont, Ne
