I am so sorry to hear about your dad and grandpa passing away Saturday. He was such a great friend of my dads, Mark Kato. I first met him when he came all the way to Havre to see him inducted into the MHSA Hall of Fame. It was so neat to see many from their class get together and tell story after story of their High School days. I feel blessed that I got to visit him at Touchmark these past few months and listen to more of his life stories. He was a very special man and so caring of others. I feel he is at peace now and with Donna and life long friend, Wells Lamey. I picture them together laughing and joking around about the good ole days.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers,
Lisa Darlington and the family of Mark Kato

Gordon was a great guy and we are going to miss him on travels up north. He was a great historian and researcher. Now he can join Donna in peace.

I only got the pleasure of getting to know Gordon over the last 16 months or so, working at touchmark. Gordon instantly had a special place in my heart. He always brightened up my day with his smile and upbeat, positive attitude. I am going to miss him terribly considering I always looked forward to seeing him and talking with him even if just for a brief few minutes. I tried everything I could to brighten up his day as often as possible, even with just little things, but I wanted him to know how much I cared about him and tried to make his day in anyway possible. Condolences to the family, he will be forever remembered and greatly missed.

I first met Gordon in the mid 50s. He was a bricklayer like his father and my father, who were very close friends. I worked for Gordon on a few job sites when he was sub-contracting. Once when I worked for a short period of time for him in Havre Gordon and Donna invited me to stay with them. Gordon and his Dad were special to me as they helped me in learning the trade.
My father, Ray Sr. passed away in 2009 at age 104. I know Dad had a special place in his heart for both Frank and Gordon.

Gordon was my mother, Audrey La Fournaise Mc Neill’s first cousin, and my second cousin. We had a special bond in that we were both into genealogy. One of his last requests recently was for me to find out where his great grandfather, Joseph Napoleon La Fournaise, Sr. was buried. He believed he was buried in North Dakota. So far I have not been able to locate the grave. Gordon’s eyesite was failing, so he couldn’t research himself any longer. Now, he can ask his great grandfather where his grave is, in heaven. He was such a wonderful person, so full of information on our family history. When I received the call from someone at Touchmark that Gordon had passed, I was in such shock that I didn’t even talk to his son, Michael, who was there. So Michael, my deepest condolences for the loss of your father. May God bring some peace to you, knowing how much your dad was loved. Gordon will be greatly missed by many. My Aunt Glenice La Fournaise Mc Phearson, Gordon’s first cousin, passed away the same day.
