Our sweet baby boy, Griffin Daniel Collette was born silently in the early morning of December 24th 2015 and his soul was immediately called home into the arms of Jesus. His tiny fragile body was 1 pound 8 ounces and 13 inches long. Though he never spent time with us outside the womb, our family misses him greatly. His mommy misses feeling him hiccup after drinking water. His sisters miss giving him kisses “good night” on mommy’s tummy. Griffin’s daddy misses laying his hands on mommy’s tummy and feeling his tiny kicks. We all imagined that Griffin would have loved the outdoors and excelled at math and science. He would have loved his family and been kind to others. He would have grown into a responsible man with strong ties to his community. With Griffin’s tragic loss, our family now has to accept that these things will not happen; however Griffin will leave an important legacy in the hearts of those who loved him and lives that we then touch with the compassion learned from this loss. Griffin left behind so many people who already loved him. He is survived by his parents, Kailen and Therese and his sisters Norah, Allison, and Victoria. He also leaves behind his paternal grandparents Jim and Jean Collette, his maternal grandmother Mary Bruggeman, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as other extended family. Griffin was warmly received in heaven by his maternal grandfather Daniel Bruggeman.
A celebration of Griffin’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2nd at Life Covenant Church, 800 N. Hoback Street. A reception will follow the service in the social hall of the church.
