I’m so sad to learn that Helen passed on. How I will miss her! My husband and I were her neighbors on Lyndale Avenue for a while, and she quickly became a part of our family circle. I loved listening to her memories of life in early Helena, and the 6th Ward in particular. She was a fiesty, funny, generous, and loving friend. My condolences to the family, and I wish I could be there for the memorial service. Rest in peace, Helen.

I am leaving this memory: my mother, Bessie (Beth) Hoell, worked for 35 years at the Dept. of Revenue. She often spoke fondly of her co-worker, Helen. My mother lived about a century, and I am so glad I recall her memories of those significant people in her life. Helen was one of them!

    Dear Bob and Family,
Sorry to hear about Helen but celebrate her long life and admire her strength and feistiness! I am sure she was thankful to live on her own and in her own home. May she (and Donnie) rest in peace. Take care. Sincerely, Helene

Helen was always a joy to be around. I knew her for 8 years and whenever I saw her she always had a couple of jokes that her friend had sent her. To say the least, some of the jokes were pretty racy – which is the embodiment of Helen. She had such a good sense of humor, loved a good story and was so interested in all that I was doing. Never did I see her without her hair done, make up applied and some jewelry on. She was an absolute delight of a human being and I will miss seeing her. May she rest in peace.

My condolences to the family of Helen. What a great and interesting lady. I knew Helen for many years beginning when I also worked for the Department of Revenue. I also grew up in the 6th Ward. I remember many times visiting with Helen over the years at the laundry facilities where she worked evenings and weekends. Helen would share stories about her family and she would also tell a joke or two. Helen loved dogs. I remember one in particular that was a chow that she would talk about. She was a dedicated and hard worker. It has been quite a few years since I talked or visited Helen to my regret. I would like the family to know that Helen was a special lady and you are in my thoughts at this difficult time.

My condolances to the family, I will miss her in the early mornings with her sack of recycled news paper bags for us. I enjoyed being her paper carrier for the couple of years that I was. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
