Helen Edith Walkey Dahl passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at Elkhorn Health and Rehab, Clancy, Montana.
Helen was born April 10, 1937 in San Francisco, California. She was raised by her mother Christine Walkey in California until 1945 when they moved to Clancy, MT. Helen grew up in Clancy and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955. She held a position with the Boulder Monitor until she met Sam Dahl and they married.
Sam and Helen made their home on the Dahl Ranch up Warm Springs Creek. They had 5 children, Jim, Bertha, Sam, Dan and George. Helen was a homemaker and was a great grandmother. She lived on the Dahl Ranch until 2011 when her health declined and she moved to the Elkhorn Health and Rehab. Helen later moved in with her son George and his family until she returned to the Elkhorn Health and Rehab where she remained until her passing.
Helen was preceded in death by her baby Sam, her Mother, husband Sam, sons Jim and George. She is survived her daughter Bertha Johnson and son Dan Dahl and grandchildren J.D (Gina) Dahl, Marlee Johnson, Adam (Meredeth) Johnson, Andrew (Skye) Dahl, Robyn Dahl, Jacob Dahl, Tommie Dahl and Ian Dahl and one great grand child Myka Johnson.
A gathering will be held in Helen’s honor at the Montana City Grill tomorrow, January 6th from 12:00-2:00 pm. Please visit below to offer the family a condolence or to share a memory of Helena.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Helen went to high school with my father and they graduated together. The short time I worked at Elkhorn, Helen was my favorite. She always asked how my dad was and what was happening in Boulder. She will always have a place in my heart and she will be truly missed!
