Hunter Louis Bossler finally found relief from his pain June 8, 2016. So very unfortunately he suffered a back injury in January 2016, and as a result of the injury and worsening pain, unrelieved by any treatments recommended, he saw the life he loved slipping further and further away. Hunter wanted all of us to remember him as he was happiest and healthiest – outdoors and laughing.
Since the day of his birth, June 23, 1992, Hunter has been putting smiles on the faces of everyone around him. As a youngster, he spent his days playing or studying sports, loving on his pets, doing puzzles, pestering his sisters, and playing cards with his Grandparents. Hunter’s favorite things were time at the cabin and hiking the Sleeping Giant, hunting the big bulls with his Dad and Grandpa, and pushing himself and his teammates to compete in the many sports he played, of which running cross country and track were where he excelled. Outside of school sports, Hunter enjoyed wood working, 4-H, everything sports, and crackin’ jokes. He touched everyone he met with his positive attitude, contagious laugh, and quirky sense of humor. Hunter had a one-of-a-kind nickname for everyone! After graduating from Capital High in 2010, he accepted a running scholarship at MSU-Billings for Cross Country and Track. Although his running career was halted due to an injury, he pursued his Associate’s Degree in Carpentry, all the while joking, laughing, and touching lives.
It was in Billings that Hunter met Stephanie Nicole Ness. It all started with a Disney movie date: “Aristocats” on VHS, and the rest is history! We were blessed with the arrival of their daughter, Adelin Olivia Bossler, on June 22, 2013, the day before Hunter’s 21st birthday. That was the day he found his true calling in life. The next three years of his life were spent wrapped around Adelin’s little fingers. He lived for the wacky nicknames, endless cuddles, precious kisses, and priceless time spent with that girl. In their short time together, they became each other’s “everything.” Anyone who spent any amount of time with those two knew they were best friends. Of his countless endeavors, being Adelin’s “Daddy” was by far his greatest accomplishment.
Hunter is survived by Bill Bossler (father) and Shaunna Wing, Brenda Synness (mother), Alyssa Bossler (sister), Tyce and Cassie Bahnmiller (sister), Wes and Carol Synness (grandparents), Stephanie Ness (Adelin’s mother), his beloved Adelin Olivia, countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Hunter was preceded in death by Dr. and Mrs. David Bossler. Memorial service to be held Wednesday, June 15 at 12 p.m. at the Synness Sleeping Giant Ranch, 4812 Sperry Road, Helena, MT. Carpooling is encouraged. If you would like to help with food, contact Kris Wilkinson at (406)461-2099. In lieu of flowers, the “Adelin Bossler Education Fund” has been set up for donations at Wells Fargo Bank. Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite memories to help us laugh and remember this great man.

I only had the privilege of knowing Hunter for about four years. It did not take long to realize he was something special. He was a happy, fun loving good person. Hunter was also a amazing daddy and he will be missed by Adelin. When Adelin is asked who her best friend is, She responds “Daddy”.
Hunter will be missed by us all.

Brenda, Bill, Alyssa, Cassie (and Little Adelin and Stephanie too), I’m sorry I couldn’t get up to the ranch today. You have all been in my thoughts and prayers. Hunter was a wonderful person and even though it’s been a while, I have such great memories of the times I spent with you guys. Words can’t take away the sorrow, but hang on to each other and remember the joy he brought to your lives. Love to all of you.

We had the privilege of being neighbors over the fence from Hunter in Billings. He was a wonderful young man and great Daddy. You could tell his daughter was the love of his life. We will miss the talks over the fence and seeing the big stick flying across the yard for his beloved dog. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
