Ira A. Keeler, age 86, of Helena, passed away December 26, 2022.
Ira was born March 23, 1936 in Driscoll, North Dakota to Warren and Gunda (Newland) Keeler. He served in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he had many jobs in his life including being a Mechanic, Trucker, Miner, Smelter man, until he found his niche with the Railroad until his retirement.
Ira was married to Claire Potvin from January 1962 to her passing in June of 1993. He fell in love with Dotty in 1998 until her passing in 2016.
Ira was active in his church. He loved his cars, children, and grandchildren Chris and Amy. He also loved his animals, driving very fast and singing.
Ira is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Donald, Herbert, Warren ‘Bud’, Howard, Lilian, Marta, and Ruth. Ira is survived by his son, Craig of Helena and daughter Irene of Helena and their families and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place.

Irene, Craig, George and Chris, Tracy and I were so saddened to hear of Ira’s passing. Ira was a good man and one of my mentors! I’ve always appreciated him and his knowledge and insight. Yet another irreplaceable member of his generation has passed on. At least we have the certainty of knowing that we will be reunited again some day!
