I remember Uncle Ivan saying, “Aw Shucks”, and that was the only “swear word” I ever heard him say. I also remember that he was very camera shy. My Dad, Ed, had an 8mm movie camera and would chase after Ivan with it and Ivan would put his hands ove his face or run away from the camera. (Maybe it was the camer’s bright light of a thousand suns that Uncle Ivan was fleeing?) Uncle Ivan reminds of a gentle giant teddy bear and I look forward to seeing him again and having the biggest family reunion in Heaven, once we all get there!!

Uncle Ivan. May he Rest in Peace but I think he and my Dad are Happy to see each other now. I can see them both smiling up there and chatting it up. He secretly bought Dad a subscription to the Burke Gazette and dad always had a ” sneaky suspicion” about who it was and he really enjoyed that paper. That was an awesome thing for Uncle Ivan to do. You all take care and I wish you Peace in your Hearts, and Forever Memories of the Good times.

I am so sorry to hear about Ivan’s passing. I always loved seeing his beautiful smile and getting a hug and getting to chat with him when I come into Eagles to see my mother Virginia Russell and the joy be brought to everyone he met. It was great that he and my mom and Jack Nagele all celebrated their birthdays on the same day the 17th. Ivan will be sorely missed but it is so wonderful to know he is in heaven with Jesus. God bless all of his family and remember all the wonderful memories you had here on earth and look forward to a wonderful reunion in Heaven. Our sympathies to all Betty Brewer and Virginia Russell

I remember spending many summers growing up going to stay with Ivan and Helen in their home in Helena. It was always so nice to finally get there and have a warm welcome and a great place to stay. Dad (Ira) always looked forward to being able to spend time with his brother. They are now both in Heaven enjoying telling all those great stories of time past with Grandma and Grandpa. Great souls serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again
