Ivan Olliffe, 85, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 in Helena, Montana.
He was born August 14, 1925 in Cliff Lake, Montana, the son of John and Nellie Jane Churchill Olliffe. He married Norma M. McPhee in Burlingame, California on February 22, 1958.
Mr. Olliffe was a graduate of Madison Valley High School, and received an Associate’s degree in accounting from the Oregon Institute of Technology. He served in the US Army Signal Corps after World War II, and then worked as a mechanic for United Airlines in San Francisco for three years. He transferred to TWA as a flight engineer in 1955, and worked for them until his retirement in 1985, having been based in San Francisco and New York. He then worked for AARP as a tax preparer in Klamath Falls, Oregon until 1995.
Mr. Olliffe loved spending time with his family, enjoyed working on cars and building constructions, and also enjoyed reading, especially history.
Mr. Olliffe is survived by his loving wife, Norma; son, Jim (Pam) Olliffe of Klamath Falls; daughters, Diane of Renton, Wash., and Sandra (Bill) Kokoruda of Helena; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Garnet and Stanley Olliffe; and an aunt, Annie Olliffe.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Madison Valley Presbyterian Church in Ennis, Montana. Burial followed at the Ennis Cemetery.
