Jacob Anthony Stuart passed away peacefully on August 11, 2014. Born in Great Falls on August 25, 1992, Jake spent most of his school years in Conrad where he had many friends and enjoyed participating in football, baseball and wrestling. He moved to Helena during his junior year of high school where he met many new friends.
Jake had a zest for life and a loving heart. He tried to make everyone around him happy and cared deeply for his friends and family. Jake enjoyed playing in the outdoors; snowboarding, hiking, camping, folfing and he most recently began wild land fire fighting. A fearless participant in these activities, Jake could perform amazing tricks on his snowboard and rode the bus from Conrad to Showdown Ski Area every weekend while growing up.
Jake is survived by his parents Greg & Tammy Stuart, brother Gregory Stuart and sister Jessica Stuart, grandparents Tim & Jeri Tromble, Joe & Jan Davis, and Dave & Kathy Washbourne, Auntie Rosemary Fowler and cousin Josh Fowler. Hailing from a large family, Jake is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins who he loved very much.

I was lucky enough to know Jake as our resident “pool rat” at the Conrad pool when I lifeguarded in high school. Although he didn’t always follow the rules – and arguably had more fun egging us on than actually swimming – he definitely made every day more exciting. We missed him on the days he didn’t show – he really was such a good kid! All of us lifeguards loved him. In my mind he will always be the fun-loving, energetic little freckle-faced heartbreaker from the pool. My heart goes out to the Stuart family and all of Jake’s many friends. He will be greatly missed.

We are holding you tightly in our hearts. Being parents and siblings who have traveled this path I want you to know that we are always here to help. If I could give each of you one gift it would be an extra pair of hands to wipe your tears, hug you when you feel like you will fall apart, and carry the burden of grief when it’s simply too much to bear. Jake was a spirited individual who made an impact on many, that is clear. I hope you find comfort in all of the love surrounding your family now.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family; and, the huge circle of friends that Jake has! Jake was one of those kids – full of energy, full of life, ready for a new adventure at any moment! He had a smile that lit up wherever he was, and, with a hint of “uh-oh, what is he planning now!” I will never forget his attitude on the football field! Awesome young man you raised Tammy and Greg! We will miss him! But, we know God has a special plan for him! May God, family, and friends hold you close through this difficult time!

Terri Losey says
Dear Tammy and Greg,
I cannot know how you hurt. My mind stops itself when I start to go there. The loss of a child is THEE one thing every parent knows they should not endure. My prayers are with you. I wish I could help in any small way. There is the saying ” Only the good die young”. I do believe when God calls someone home when they are so young it is for a special purpose. I know that he was met there by our family and friends who have gone before him. Please take comfort from that and feel Grandpa and Grandma’s heart and hugs around you both at this time. You raised a great kid and can be proud knowing that! Rest in Peace Jake.
Kendall griggs says
Jake was full of life and always questioned the world, something we did often in English Class. As a student he was eager to share his opinion and never afraid to argue his point of view. His classmates appreciated his honesty and his big smile. He was strong willed and charasmatic and will be missed. Thoughts and prayers with Tammy, Greg and Jessica.

Greg, Tammy, Gregory, and Jessica:
We are so sorry to hear about Jacob. May you feel the presence of God wrapping his arms around you to help comfort you in a very difficult time. We remember Jake’s enormous grin as others have mentioned. Without any words, his smile almost insinuated him saying, “Wait and see what I do next” or “Come on, you know I am right”. He was full of energy and seemed to be always having a great time as he made other people around him happy and smile as well. It was a pleasure to know, teach and coach Jake. We are thankful for the memories he provided us with his zestful, energetic and fun loving personality.
Carol Gunderson says
