James Albert Freeman of Helena Montana passed away peacefully in his sleep February, 22, 2012.
He was born on January 31, 1940 in Spokane, Washington. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1958 and served in the U. S. Army. He retired from Albertsons grocery store after 42 years.
Jim was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and devoted friend.
Jim always had a smile on his face, a joyful heart and a cheerful word for everyone he met. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee, hunting, golfing, fishing, mining, playing cards with his children and grandchildren, watching football, and spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved ‘texting’ his children and grandchildren!
Jim is preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Mildred Freeman, his sisters Joann Wrenn, Janice Arnett, Betty Ann Wustner, and his beloved dog Teddy Bear.
Jim is survived by his sister Bobbie Jean
Phillips, his 6 children James Freeman,
Jonalle Ferraro, Robert Freeman,
Carleen Rodriguez, Dana Stein, and
Luke Freeman. By his grandchildren; Jacob Freeman, Sabrina Freeman, Jessica & (Russell) Mayry, Kaytlin Ferraro, Sarah Ferraro, Breanna Ferraro, Michael Ferraro, Sebastian Freeman, Kristoffer Rodriguez, Kaleb Rodriguez, Kasey Rodriguez, Justin Stein, Abigail Stein, Isabella Stein, Kaisey Freeman, his great grandchildren;
Avianna Rodriguez, Mila Rodriguez, and
Korbin Stein and several nieces and nephews.
Jim’s faithfulness, sense of humor, loyalty,
resiliency, strength. wisdom and loving heart will be greatly missed by all who
knew and loved him.
A memorial service in celebration of Jim’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 2nd at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. with burial with military honors to follow at Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Harrison. A luncheon will follow the graveside service at Jorgenson’s Restaurant in the lower level banquet facility.
