James (Jim) Anthony Rehbein, 63 years old, of Helena passed from this life into eternity on February 1, 2012.
Jim was born in Shelby, Montana on September 24, 1948 to James H. and Beverly Lindvig Rehbein. Jim was the first born of six children. Jim attended Saint Matthew’s grade school and Sidney High School until his junior year when the family moved to Miles City. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1966. He was an outstanding athlete in football, basketball, track and his favorite sport, baseball.
In 1967 he married Sally Olson. They had two children, Lisa Jo and Scott. Jim and Sally divorced in 1978. In March of 1979, he married Kathleen Barrett. They were married for 21 years.
Jim enjoyed woodworking and was an avid gardener. Growing roses was his specialty. He was an ardent fisherman and taught his children and grandchildren to fish. He also enjoyed reading books, particularly westerns, and watching the History Channel and sports, especially the Little League World Series.
After retiring as a sales representative for Associated Foods, he built two beautiful homes in the Flathead Valley. He worked part time in a hardware store and would go to customer’s homes after hours to help them and make sure they got the right materials for the job they were doing.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Lisa Jo Evans; her husband, Heath; their three daughters, Kelsey, Joelle, and Piper of Colorado Springs, CO; his son, Scott Rehbein, his wife, Becky and his two sons, Walter of San Antonio, TX.; and Austin of Plentywood of MT. Lisa Jo…what a delightful way to remember your dad. I so enjoyed the pictures… they brought back so many memories of living in Helena near your mom and dad. Of course, most of the memories were of you and Scott… Do you remember that wonderful almond bush your dad planted.. I can still recall the fragrance. Jim was like that…the memories linger and are pleasant. Thank you for making such a lovely memorial for him. My best, Nonie
