In Memory Of

Janet M. Dunn, age 68, of Helena

June 12, 1949 – September 2, 2017

Janet M Dunn passed away on September 2, 2017 at her residence. Janet was born June 2, 1949 in Indiana, Pennsylvania to parents Joseph and Mary Golinsky.

Janet grew up in Corral, Pennsylvania and graduated from Homer City Senior High School in 1968.

After high school, Janet was recruited for a job with the Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C. which started a career that would last over 42 years. Janet was assigned to the Denver, Colorado VA Hospital to be office manager for the VA construction project Resident Engineer in 1974. Here she met a new engineer to the VA John (Rob) Dunn. They were coworkers and became good friends. They snowed skied at many of the main ski resorts in western Colorado. They Parted ways when project was near completion but reconnected at the Ft Harrison VA Hospital. Janet and Rob were married February 19, 1977 and were married for over 40 years. They had one son, Chadwick A. Dunn.

Janet retired from the VA at Ft Harrison in 2011 with over 42 years of service. When she retired she was Payroll Technician for VA Montana Healthcare System.

Janet loved to cook and try new recipes. She was famous for her Prime Rib, Lasagna, Spaghetti, homemade pizza and everything else. She enjoyed working in the yard, planting plants and flowers and riding her lawn tractor cutting grass and weeds in yard and field. Holidays were always special to Janet. She would decorate the house for Easter, Halloween, thanksgiving and Christmas. Christmas was her favorite where besides the tree, she would have decorations all over the house. Janet enjoyed going to Swan Lake in the summer where she and Rob had a camp trailer setup each summer. She liked camping and going out on boat rides on warm afternoons just cruising around the lake and taking breaks to jump in the water to cool off. Janet’s quiet time was reading different books on her kindle or watching a favorite TV show or just sitting out on their patio enjoying the outdoors.

Janet was a fun loving, happy, caring person who loved life, her animals and being with friends and family. She was always willing to help and gave to numerous charities.

Janet is survived by her husband Rob; Son Chadwick; Brothers Bob Golinsky (Joyce) and Larry Golinsky (Brenda). Janet was preceded in death by her brothers Richard Golinsky and Michael Golinsky; and parents Joseph and Mary Golinsky.

Rob & Chad – My deepest sympathy to you both. As you know, Jan was part of the gang of four who came to the Big City of Washington, DC, 49 years ago. She and I remained roommates for many years. I have such fond memories of “the good old days.” She continually made me laugh, and furious when she would not take my advice! Regardless, I loved her and will miss her terribly. Rob & Chad, if there is anything I can do for you, I’m only a phone call away. Jan, you will remain in my heart forever, dear friend.
