Janice Marie “Calder” Whitehorse passed away on February 5, 2015.
She was born in Wolf Point, Montana on September 2, 1939. She was raised in Wolf Point and Helena.
Besides caring for her children and grand children she enjoyed going to pow-wows in the summer and playing machines in the winter. She also enjoyed watching a variety of sports year round.
She is preceded in death by parents, Philomene and Alex Calder. Brothers Eddie, Bruce and William Calder. Sisters Pharaby, Patty and Viola Running Fisher and grand children Jeremiah and Becky Parshley.
She is survived by her seven children, daughters Tammi Morrison, Mavis (Donald) Whitford, Valerie Twoteeth, and Julia Whitehorse and her sons Joseph Whitehorse, Leonard (Carrie) Whitehorse, Donald (Susan) Whitehorse and sixteen grand children and seven great grand children. Siblings, Theresa, Alex and David Calder.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 9, 2015 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A reception will immediately follow the funeral service at Sheridan Hall, 501 Euclid Ave., Helena, MT 59601. A graveside service will be held at noon, on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Resurrection Cemetery in Helena. Memorials in Janice’s name may be made to Rocky Mountain Hospice, 1075 N. My condolences to Janice’s family. I knew Janice, when I met her in Helena in the early 1990’s. She was always a generous person, and very nice. Janice and I share (3) beautiful grandchildren and (1) great grandchild. Rest in Peace my friend.
