In Loving Memory of Jared Dickert
May 27, 1980 – April 1, 2025
With aching hearts, we share the passing of our beloved husband, uncle, cousin, and full-time friend, Jared Dickert, who left us on April 1, 2025.
Jared’s generous spirit, sharp wit, caring heart, and ever-smiling eyes will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Delsey; his loyal dog, Browning; countless cousins who saw him as a ride-or-die companion; friends who became chosen family; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Born in Helena, Jared was the shining light of his parents’ lives, Charles (Charlie) and Diana Dickert, both of whom preceded him in death. We take comfort knowing he is now reunited with them, along with his cherished grandparents and his beloved dogs, Layla and Gidget.
Jared’s talents and passions were many. Taught by his mother, he became an exceptional fly fisherman, finding peace and joy in the water they often shared. From his father, he inherited a love of the mountains and four-wheeling—so much so that some say Jared was on a 4-wheeler not long after he learned to walk. He had a deep love for the outdoors: camping, discovering backroads, and simply being in nature. He also loved time with friends and family (many of whom were both), and had a lifelong knack for tinkering with electronics—a passion sparked by early days playing with Legos.
Jared graduated from Helena High School and earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Montana State University, later adding a degree in Broadcast Engineering. He found true purpose and joy in his work at Cherry Creek Radio in Helena, where he made lasting friendships and truly loved what he did.
We are endlessly thankful that Jared found his perfect match in Delsey. They shared a connection that felt destined—no one “got” Jared like Delsey, and no one “got” Delsey like Jared. After time spent living in Wenatchee, WA, they returned to Helena following Jared’s cancer diagnosis. He fought his illness with incredible courage and grace, far outlasting doctors’ expectations and never losing his sense of humor or warmth.
Jared lives on in every clever pun, every nerdy joke, every mountain trail, and every peaceful lake. We will think of him often and always—with immense gratitude for the time we had and the love we shared.
A celebration of Jared’s life will be held on May 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. In honor of Jared’s favorite color—the same as his twinkling blue eyes—we invite you to wear that shade on the day. Whether you attend in person or not, please consider wearing blue in his memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lewis & Clark Humane Society, or honor Jared with a random act of anonymous generosity. He would’ve loved that.

As many who fight cancer know the pain every one experiences!
Jared was still making jokes till the end, never wanted anyone to feel sorry for him nor wanted anyone to cry! He showed love and caring for others till the end! Part of me is at ease that he don’t have to smile as he was in pain, but part of me still wishes his bright eyes and warm smile was still here! I am very fortunate that Jared was and always be in my life! I was very lucky to have known him, thank you god for making our paths cross in life! Alway love never forgotten, cherished memories for infinity!

Jared was nothing short of a wonderful, compassionate, and loving man. he fought till the very end and did it all with a smile. I am so fortunate to have spent more than half of my life knowing Jared – as a beloved family member. Delsy and Jared were always sure to include us older cousins (Devon and I) on trips and adventures and made us feel like kids all over again. Our memories full of laughter, conversations of Legos, dance parties, and even that time Jared and I tried to make a “belly band”, will forever live on with me.
Jared, I will continue to live for the applause, applause, applause – just like Lady Gaga insisted we do. and I’ll continue to do it with a smile on my face; because you showed us all that no matter what, a smile and a bit of love is all it takes to persevere, even through the hardest of times.

Jared just recently texted me photos of his parents. Diana was a good friend and I mentioned to him I was at his grandparents home for their wedding. I’m so grateful I have those memories of Diana, Charles and Jared.
Delsey, I’m so sorry for your immense loss. My prayers are with you. My husband also passed 4/19/25. So I feel your pain. God be with you.

Jared took over the Cherry Creek Media stations from me in Wenatchee. I spent some time with him during the transition and found him to be very kind. Our industry has lost a brother and a friend. I’ll hoist a pint in his honor!
