Jason Clair Schilling, 45, unexpectedly passed away, April 30, 2012 at his beloved childhood home in Helena. Jason was born to Bonni (Nordine) and Clarence (Clair) Schilling on April 25, 1967 in Billings, MT. The family moved to Helena in 1970 where Jason attended C.R. Anderson Elementary & Middle School and eventually graduated from Capital High in 1986. Jason married Shanni Poad (Barry) and from that union, two children were born, a son, Joshua and daughter, Keeli. On October 21, 2006 Jason married Danielle (Eby) and they became an adoring couple. They shared each other’s trials and hopes and their lives were made richer by their shared love.
Jason worked for Falcon Press, Consolidated Freightways, Lewis & Clark County Detention Center, and was employed by the Montana Department of Revenue at the time of his death. Jason was always a dedicated and valued employee who took pride in doing a job to the best of his ability. His work ethic was the result of example and teachings of his parents, Bonni and Clair. Jason also made time in his life for fun. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. Jason was comfortable in any environment and his inner beauty was as easy to recognize as any of his physical features. His good humor and kindness to others made him a sought- after companion by friends and family members alike. Keeli and Joshua were as vital to Jason as the air he breathed. Family was the most important aspect of Jason’s life, both immediate and extended families. Time spent with family members was precious to him and he took every opportunity to host family gatherings, especially during the holidays. He was a talented cook and everyone looked forward to his special enchiladas or the huge breakfasts he prepared. As a father, son, husband, brother, uncle, nephew, or cousin he was the best. Our sense of loss is deep and only tempered by the fond memories Jason provided. He was a kind, gentle man who willingly gave others the greatest of gifts– his time and attention.
Jason is survived by his wife, Danielle; son, Joshua; daughter, Keeli; father, Clair; sister, Kris; brother; Mark (Judy); nieces and nephews, Danny, Michael, Amanda, James, and Mark; and great-niece, Paityn. Jason is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Diane and Ray Eby; his brother-in-law, Brett (Amanda) Eby; and great-niece, Olivia. Preceding him in death was his lovely mother, Bonni.
Visitation hours will begin at noon with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Avenue. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church (corner of Henderson and Stuart Street). Burial will follow at Forestvale Cemetery. Please join the family for a reception to follow at the church. Memorials are suggested to Humane Society, P.O. Box 4455, Helena, MT 59604 or charity of the donor’s choice. Please visit www.aswfuneralhome.com to offer the family condolences.

I am truly shocked and saddened by Jason’s passing. I worked along side Jason at DOR and continued to work with him as I moved to DOJ. He was a dear friend and co-worker for many years. Our birthdays were the same day and we never forgot to tell each other happy birthday even after I left DOR. Jason was a kind and gentle man. I miss you my friend and to your family my deepest sympathy. My prayers are with each of you.

I miss you Jason and feel so alone, my life feels empty and I’m not whole. I cling to memories that bring you near and I realize how you are so dear. It’s not just your body and cute butt I will miss; it’s your touch and voice and thoughts, your kiss. Your ideas, songs and how you talk, the way you sleep and how you walk. Your smile, your laugh, your love of holidays. Your great intolerance of pain and times we played golf in the rain. Your grin when you were filled with joy, as I walked down the aisle you had the energy of a restless boy. Your arms encircling around my waist, oh how I yearn to feel your strong embrace. The ways your eyes sparkle and shine and the feeling of your warm lips upon mine.
Oh Jason, If only I could change the past, I would be gone but you would last. For that was how it was supposed to be, that you would be here and missing me. I love and miss you terribly!
