Jean L. (Miller Geier) Sherlock, age 97, of Helena, formally of Boulder, MT, passed away December 2, 2014.
Jean was born May 23, 1917 in Butte, MT to Harry Francis Miller and Leonine (Williams) Miller. She joined her siblings, Mona (McShane), Charles, Leo, James, and Nan (Clem) with Nan being the only surviving sibling. Leonine died when Jean was only 11 years old. Her Auntie Garnet became Jean’s “surrogate” mother thereafter.
Jean married Joseph Geier on March 27, 1937, of that union there were two sons born, Charles ‘Chuck’ B. Geier and John P. Geier. With life changes she eventually married her husband of 50 years plus on June 27, 1964, Clarence W. Sherlock. Jean was a lovely woman who had many different interests, some of which were dancing, sewing, gardening, cooking, and music. Many of her interests she passed down to her grandchildren.
Over her 97 almost 98 years, Jean (Loving Mother-Wife-Grandmother-Great grandmother) had many trials and tribulations, but had many more gifts and blessings. She enjoyed many years being involved with a variety of interests. She was one of the first female Volunteer Firefighters in Elliston, MT. Jean spent over 50 years as a member of the Eastern Star in Montana and Washington. She played piano and organ for many different events (Dances!), organizations, and churches.
Two of her other loves of her life were her dog, Mister and her cat, Skitters…Skitters will now rule the roost with Grandpa Clarence. Jean was a best friend, a beautiful lady, an amazing artist and an overall incredible person. She will be missed by many. Jean could grow anything from seed to start. Her highest compliment as a gardner would be “I love you more than dirt!”….So go love those you know…sow your seeds and “Love everyone… more than dirt!”
Jean is survived by her husband, Clarence; Charles ‘Chuck’ Geier’s children: son, Keith (Shona) Geier and their children-Maija, Riley, and Wyatt, and daughter, Bonnie Jo (BJ) Geier and her children, Cathleen ‘Catie’ Carson and Charles ‘CJ’ Geier; John J. Geier’s children, daughter, Shannon (Geier) Zierrolf and her daughter, Kendell Zierolf, son, John J. (JJ) (Farrah) Geier and their children, son, Kohl Geier, daughter, Karli Linnebur, daughter Janna Geier and son, Tyler Geier.

Clarence, Chuck, and families,
On behalf of mom and myself, I would like to extend our sympathies for the loss of wife and mother. With Jean’s passing, my mom has lost a sister. Mom often speaks of her extended cousin/brother-sister family and how they grew up together and all the fun they had … along with the hard times… which were many. “Aunt” (actually cousin) Jean always seemed to me to be the kind of lady that her Auntie Garnett (my grandmother) was. She endured difficult things but was always gracious and hospitable to others during the worst of her own problems. That is a rare trait and we will miss her gracious example.
Evelyn and Kristi Winkler says
My Dear Brother Clarence, and to jeans Family, Kristi and I extend our deepest sympathy for the loss of a Dear Wife and a very special sister in law. May the Special Angel ( Jean ) always look after all of you. She will be missed Much Love to all of you.
Nancy Stevenson says
