Jeanette C. Trythall, 96, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 26, 2015.
Jeanette was born in Butte, Montana on October 18, 1918 to Harvey and Annie Pelletier. She was raised in McQueen on Cottonwood Street, the eldest of five children. She attended Holy Savior School, graduating in 1932 and Girl Central High School graduating in 1936. After graduation from High School, Jeanette went to Great Falls where she had a scholarship to the Great Falls Business College. After one year, she returned to Butte and attended the Butte Business College. Jeanette worked for Interstate Lumber after her college experience until the love of her life, Ryan Trythall, asked her to join him in Hobbs, New Mexico where they were married on June 25, 1945.
Jeanette and Ryan were childhood sweethearts and never missed a high school dance or a chance to go ice skating, or share a ride at the Columbia Gardens. It was truly a once in a lifetime love. Ryan and Jeanette brought four more members to their family, Jerry, Carol Ann, Bruce and Nellie.
Jeanette was a stay at home mom and took great pride in having a hot lunch for her children every school day. We would all run home for lunch and find her waiting for us with open arms. She loved being at home. We all know that ironing was her favorite and that she even ironed our underwear.
Mom lost the love of her life on March 26, 1973. She never once thought about remarrying as she said no one could ever measure up to dad and she would never find another man like him. After his death, mom became more involved in the school lives of her children and never missed a function at St Joseph’s church where she made so many good friends. Jeanette later volunteered at the Lady of the Rockies and was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Annie Pelletier, her loving husband, Ryan, Daughter, Carol Ann, Daughter in law Jayne, sister and brother in law Blanche and Bud Erickson, brother and sister in law, Paul and Louise Pelletier and brother Joseph “Spike” Pelletier.
Jeanette is survived by son Jerry (Chris), son in law John Knoepke, son Bruce, daughter Nellie (John) Beatty, brother Ray (Myra) Pelletier, sister in law, Mary Jean Pelletier, 8 grandchildren, Lisa McNear, Michael Trythall, Matt (Diane) Knoepke, Kim(Aaron) Brown, Rob(Kayla) Trythall, Theresa (Jerrick) McElroy, Cory (Michelle) Beatty and Carrie(Ryan)Lindsay, 13 great-grandchildren, Brock McNear, Alexis and David Brown, Hannah, Jax and Colin Trythall, Kayli, Mullanie and Fynna McElroy, Brian and Toni Beatty, Maryah and Eryn Lindsay, as well as many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
We want to thank Dr. Sherri Howell, Rocky Mountain Hospice and the staff of Apple Cooney Nursing Home. Please send all donations to The Lady of the Rockies or Rocky Mountain Hospice.
Mom, we all loved you and will miss you so much! We know you are in a better place and we will see you again. Enjoy dancing with the angels and watching us from above.

I work with Jerry and have worked with him most of my adult life. He’s a fine person with integrity and a wonderful sense of humor. I can only surmise that his mother had a big hand in shaping the kind of person he is. I was so sorry to learn from him of her passing. I love the beautiful story told in her obituary–what a tribute and what a life. My heartfelt condolences to Jerry and all of Jeanette’s family. Very truly, Lisa Hartman, Dallas, TX.
