Jeffery Smith, age 60 of Avon

October 14, 1963 – January 4, 2024

Jeffery Dean Smith, age 60, of Deer Lodge/Avon area, passed away January 4, 2024 at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls from injuries received in an auto accident on October 25, 2023.

Jeffery was born October 14, 1963 in Helena, MT to Stanley Dean and Millie Mildred (Mclease) Smith. He graduated from Flathead Valley High School and lived in the Avon, Elliston, and Deer Lodge areas. He married Vanessa (Colby) Smith on December 31, 1990.

Jeffery worked for himself as a Timber Cutter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shed hunting. Basically, any outdoor activities, he loved.

Jeffery is preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Millie Smith. He is survived by his wife Vanessa Smith of Avon, MT; his son Ken (Kristy) Colby of Elliston, MT; his daughter Jessica (Damon) Butters of Kalispell, MT; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and his beloved dog Malachi.

A Celebration of his Life will be held in the Spring when his son can spread his ashes during shed season. Memorials may be mailed to Jeffery Smith Family, 306 N Main St., Elliston, MT 59728 or email at kristym441@gmail.com.

    Vanessa and family. Jeff’s passing has left a giant hole in our family and he will be greatly missed by so very many of us he was a kind hearted man with a great deal of live for so many things. I can’t help but smile when I think of what he and my brother Phil might be getting into about now, but I’m certain God can handle it please know my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know this isn’t an easy time for you, but if I can help you in any way, please just ask. Love you

    sorry meant his 0ther 3 grand kids there is actually five no matter what you all take or do im still his son always will be.
