Jemal was born in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to North Dakota when he was an adolescent. He grew up in the small town of Souris, ND, going on to graduate from high school in the small town. Jemal was an athlete and played several different sports throughout his high school and early college career.
Jemal has always been a traveler, living and working in North Dakota, Iowa, Big Sky, Montana, and Helena among other places. Jemal married Tiffany French (Fox) on September 13, 2019 in Montana where they resided.
Jemal loved to speak his mind. From politics to social issues, few who knew him escaped his strong opinions.
Jemal’s hobbies included spending time with his family, watching the Patriots games and playing Xbox with his friends.

It would be great to argue with him one more time or get grief on how poorly my Steelers did compared to his beloved Patriots. I’m happy and honored that I had the opportunity to join you two in marriage and welcome you to the family.

Jamal is missed by his work family at the Academy. We were stunned by his passing. I don’t shed tears easily, but I wept for him.

He was a great uncle. I didn’t hang out with him much but I loved it when I did. He was fun to be around and he was pretty good at cooking in my opinion. I will miss you very much.
