In Memory Of

Jerry L. Carlson, age 79, of Jefferson City

June 14, 1937 – May 13, 2017

Gerald Lee Carlson, Jerry, 79, of Jefferson City, passed away unexpectedly at his home May 13th.  He was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1937 to Andrew and Ethel Carlson in Glendive.

Jerry grew up in construction as a mechanic. Many lasting friendships grew from his career.

After retirement, Jerry and his best friend and wife, Shirley, enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.  Always the mechanic, there was nothing he couldn’t fix.  He even invented a couple of new pieces of equipment for safety and more efficient completion of tasks.

Family and friends meant everything to Jerry.  There was always food, a pot of coffee or a drink for visitors.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Andrew, sister, Joy Warren, brother, Alan, mother, Ethel, wife, Shirley, brother, John and 2 great grandchildren, Harley and Charlie Ann.

He is survived by his son, Tim (Lucy), daughter, Vicki (Edward) Kaufman, sister-in-law, Shirley Carlson, grandchildren, Crystal (Trampas), Kyle (Laura), Cheri (Jeff), Michael (Belinda), Marie (Nick), 5 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Bridger FCCLA Jerry and Shirley Carlson Memorial, 429 W. Park, Bridger, MT 59014, or to the charity of your choice.

Rest in peace Jerry. I was fortunate to have grown up around Jerry during my high school years. He had a big heart and an ornery wit. One of my memories was arm wrestling with Jerry at a get together at Bowler Flats outside of Bridger, Mt. I was good enough right handed but Jerry succeeded left handed.
    Till we meet again

I just heard that Jerry has passed away. I have so many great memories of him, Shirley, Vicki and Tim. The Montgomery clan and the Carlsons had many fun times. My childhood is full of lovely times shared with all of you. It is hard every time I hear about another loss. All my thoughts are with you. Deb Montgomery Bowser
