Jessie Brown Ticknor passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 6, 2018 in Helena, Montana. She was 87.
Jessie was born into and raised in a family of 10 children in Nebraska. She met her husband of 62 years, Lloyd Ticknor, while she was working as a soda jerk at the drug store. They loved to dance and loved to go fishing together. They had 4 children, and Jessie was a wonderful mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her parents, Frank and Estella; sisters, Lucille, LaVerne, Shirley, Phoebe, Carol, and June; brothers, Warren and Steve; son-in-law Dale Bakken; and Amy Rolfe.
She is survived by her brother, Stan (Leah); her children, Cheri Bakken, Gary (Connie), Peggy (Lynn) Rolfe, and Vaughn (Dana); 21 grandchildren; and 26 great- grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Jessie’s life will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 10th, at the Friendship Baptist Church, 5 Friendship Lane, Montana City, MT 59634. A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Frontier Home and Health Hospice, 800 Front St., Helena, MT 59601. My greatest memory of your parents is how they ran Ben Franklin and their clothing store with with such ethics and made all of their customers feel like they meant something whether buying a pair of earrings or an expensive suit. They appreciated all of their customers and every purchase. It is merchants like them that I miss most in the world.

Even though we didn’t get to see Uncle Lloyd and Aunt Jessie often, I have so many wonderful memories. The last time I saw them was at Aunt Lucille’s funeral. I was thrilled when we connected on FB. Love to you all from Nebraska!
