We are all so sad for all of you. Fly with the angels, Joanie. You were certainly one of them!! All of your cousins loved you dearly. Always smiling and joking. You will be missed.
Hugs and much love to all of her family.
Barbara Barnes says
Joan was an incredible force for good, for inquiring about what was making things happen and for caring about the earth and its inhabitants. Now her Spirit must be soaring and free. She changed me for the better. May you all be carried with comfort and care. Barb
Trago says
Joan repaired tens of books and saved thousands when she worked at the library. She truly cared to the earth.
Jacquie says
Joan and I talked and visited through so many of Mattie’s volleyball games. She touched a lot of people.
Take care.

AMY BUDKE says
I always felt calmed and uplifted in Joan’s presence… Even if it was just a brief greeting as we passed each other in the neighborhood. What a gift to have her in our community. Deep Peace to her family.
Janet Spencer says
I sang with Joan in Sweet Adelines and she was such a joy to sing with. I remember she once adopted and elderly person at a nursing home, helping them until they died and it was such a sweet gesture on her part. Godspeed, Joan.
Jan Jahner says
Joan accepted what life offered, the gritty stuff along the good. She showed me how to rest in uncertainty and remain curious, even when I was scared, or she was dying. Over the years, I watched her walk into wisdom, her equanimity gave me courage.
She was a friend to me through every trial and celebration. I loved our literary discussions, sharing our spiritual journeys and simply being in her presence.
Love to Bruce, Mattie, Scott, her grandchildren, sisters and brothers
