Joe A. Madsen, of Clancy, MT, was called home to be with Jesus on March 9, 2015 after a valiantly fought battle with bone cancer. He was a truly generous, honest, caring, hardworking man who dearly loved his wife of 46 years, Sharon, daughter Quenby, son-in-law Shane and granddaughters Kayla, Maggie and Sydney. Anyone within the sound of his voice was considered a potential friend and he loved sharing his faith in Jesus with family, friends and potential friends alike.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 13th at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Harrison. A reception will follow at the Friendship Baptist Church in Montana City at noon. Please bring a dish to share if you are able and a story about your experiences with joe. Please visit below to offer the family a condolence or to share a memory of Joe.

Dear Sharon, Quenby, Shane, and all the rest of Joe’s beautiful family…….We’re sending all our love & prayers. Joe was like a father figure to us, as well as one of the sweetest, most caring, and kindest men we have ever known, and we’re going to miss him here on this earth, so much. Joe was a wonderful example of a servant of Christ…..it was obvious every day how much he loved the Lord, and Joe taught us so much about growing in our faith!
The biggest comfort now, of course, is knowing that Joe is in paradise with our Lord & Savior, Jesus, & free of all pain and affliction in his new body! We will remember Joe every day, forever, until we see him again. God Bless you all…..you are such a beautiful family, and you bless us, so very much. Love, Joe & Robin Boule’

Claudia Burdick says
Dear Sharon and Quenby and all the family. Joe was certainly an honorable, God-fearing man, who included everyone near and far in his circle of love. I feel so privileged to have known him and I look forward to the day when I’ll see him again. I can hear his deep powerful voice in my ears even now, as he praised God for his life and those he loved. He was always thankful for everything even when he had to go through these last years of pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Sharon I loved hearing your thoughts after Joe had passed, still praising God for standing by His promises. I know there will be lonely days ahead, but your faith in God will carry you through. Love and care, Claudia and Dan Burdick
Mike and Olivia Tooley says
Dear Madsen Family, we are saddened by the news of Joe’s passing. May You find comfort in your memories of your beloved husband, father and grandfather. We will always think fondly of Joe. One of our prominent memories of him is when Mike’s mother was in the ICU and Joe came to the hospital to check on us. Seeing that our six children were with us, Joe rounded them up and took them all out to eat. This touched us more Han words could ever say. Joe could have simply ordered pizza and had it delivered, but instead he took on responsibility for them and removed them from the stressful environment they were in, if even for just a short while. His kindness and generosity will not be forgotten. Joe was a shining example of a kind and Christian man. May you rest in peace Joe. Much love from the Tooley Bunch

I was sad to read in the paper that Joe is gone, even though I know he is with Jesus and free from pain now. I know how much you will miss him. He was a wonderful man, with a warm heart, always ready to help others. May Jesus be close to you now and in the days to come, and give you comfort. Love and blessings, Sheri Schofield

Everyone at Loma Linda remembers the “spark plug” Joe and his “kickstarter” wife Sharon!! They brought Jesus to every get together we had. They had learned how to walk with Jesus every day here on the earth and wanted to show us all how to do it also. A sweeter, more dedicated couple you will not meet. We miss you Joe….

David Cowles says
Dear family of Mr. Madsen: Please accept my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy on the loss of you’re dear loved one. Death is such a tragedy for all of us, and when it touches us personally, its sometimes difficult to find the comfort that we search for. Our Heavenly Father feels empathy for those who have felt the sting of death, and therefore promises to eliminate pain, sorrow and death. (Please read Revelation 21:4) Jesus gave even more reason for hope at John 5:28,29 where he explains: “…all those in the memorial tombs…will come out…” As you read the above texts in you’re Bible, may the wonderful hope they give us, along with loving memories, bring you a measure of comfort, during this most difficult time. Sincerely: David Cowles
