John A. Ryan, always ‘Jack’ to his friends, passed away on July 11, 2024. He was 91 years old.
Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Lisa Ryan of Williamsburg, VA; his daughter, Janice Colpitt of Helena; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Jack enjoyed a distinguished 21-year career in the United State Air Force and was stationed all around the country. He was also a proud Korean War Veteran, serving there for 18 months. During his 18 years in Helena, he loved serving his community and volunteered for several organizations and charities around town.
Jack was admired, respected, and loved by all and will be missed.
A Memorial service will be held at Life Covenant Church on July 27 at 11:00. Please consider a donation to the Wounded Warriors Foundation in lieu of flowers.

My sincere condolences to the entire family. I am happy to see he had such a long life and a military career. I share his love for his country. I also served 21 years in the Navy. All service personnel have a common bond and a great love and respect for our wonderful country. I know his family and friends are very proud of him.
