Jonathan (Jon) D. Danzer, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2019. He was the husband of Hannah Danzer, sharing 15 years of a fun filled life together.
Born on December, 24, 1976 in Helena, Mt he was raised by Michael and Bernice Danzer. Jon attended Capital High School in Helena where he spent his youth traveling around the state playing baseball and football, two sports that he was very passionate about. His teams were Chicago Bears, the New York Yankees, and the Florida State Seminals. Jon was a local business owner in Helena, owning and operating Center Stage Video, followed by Last Chance Sports.
Jon enjoyed anything and everything about sports. On any given summer evening you could find Jon down at Batch Fields, either playing or socializing with his large group of friends. He was an avid Dart player and grew very close with the Dart Community in Helena. He enjoyed hunting, skiing, fishing and everything involving the outdoors. In more recent years, you would find Jon traveling the state following his children, Lilli and Jaysen, playing a variety of sports including softball, baseball, soccer and basketball. Last year he had the pleasure of coaching the local small fry football team, Bob’s Valley Market, Raiders. He took great pride in being involved in the youth activities.
Jon had a true passion for cooking. He loved nothing more than creating a master meal, finding any reason to cook and please others. He loved hosting all family activities, as well as any opportunity to invite his friends and family over for every holiday, game night, super bowl party, or any instance that he could turn into a social occasion.
His favorite childhood memories that he cherished were spending time on the ranch in Dell, Mt with his grandpa, Gene Hildreth. There he enjoyed, shooting gophers, riding the four wheelers and helping his grandpa do chores.
One thing we all know for sure is that where ever Jon was, he was surrounded by friends. He was very protective of those he cared about. He was always there to lend a hand, give a hug, or flash his warm smile. His contagious laugh will always be remembered.
He is survived by his beloved Wife, Hannah Danzer, Daughter, Lilli Danzer(14), Son, Jaysen Danzer(11), Father, Michael Danzer, all of Helena; Birth mother, Anita Scheffelmear, Brothers Chad Scheffelmear of Idaho and Jesse Scheffelmear, of Lewistown and Sister, Jennifer Cade of Bozeman; Aunt Julie Glauber of Dillon, Uncle Craig Hildreth of Bozeman, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his Mother Ida Bernice of Helena; Grandparents, Bud and Artis Danzer of Denton; Grandparents, Bob and Bessie Hildreth of Dillon; Grandparents Gene and Winnie Hildreth of Dillon; Grandparents, Bill and Elsie McMannis of Dillon.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. in Helena. A reception will follow the service at Eagles Bar, 801 N. Fee St. in Helena. Mike, Hannah, and family:
I had great memories of Jon as a kid, but my best memories of Jon were as an adult. I will never forget Jon, Hannah and I would talk at Rocky Mountain Preschool. We didn’t get that deep, but it was always clear that Jon loved his family more than anything in the world. I know that love lives on beyond death.
Please keep me in mind if you need anything in the days and years to come.
Sincerely,
Matt

Uncle Mike, Hannah, Lilli, & Jayson- Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. Most of my memories of Jon (we called him Jonathan back then) were of holidays spent together at Grandma Ardis’ house in Denton. He was such a fun and patient cousin and kept us laughing around the “kids” table. We also looked up to him for his athletic abilities. In later years his love and dedication to his family was clearly evident. Sending much love and prayers!

Danzer Family,
I am very sad at the news of Jon’s passing. I hadn’t seen Jon in years and ran into him recently. What might have been a quick “Hello, how’s it going” turned into a 45 minute conversation about baseball, food and family. I have spoke of Jon often over the years…anytime someone wants to talk about baseball I tell them about the best pure hitter I ever had, the toughest kid I ever coached and the most competitive…all of these were Jon. The summer of 89 was a great time for me and Jon was a huge part of that run. I will never forget him or stop telling those stories about him. My prayers are with the family and all who loved this kid.

Uncle Mike, Hannah, Lilli, and Jayson,
I’m so sorry for your loss of Jon. I know he loved each of you fiercely and you made his life full of love and purpose.
I’ll always remember my older cousin who was both cool and fun. He was always wrestling and playing with us at family holidays when he could have been watching TV instead of paying attention to his pesky little cousins.
I remember his utter joy on his wedding day; the way he looked at his bride made everyone know that he felt he was the luckiest man alive. And I remember the love and pride that filled his eyes when he introduced his kids.
His heart was so kind. I will miss him.
I’m praying for each of you.

I was heart broken to hear of Jon’s passing on the day of his memorial. I’ll always remember his sweet smile and good heart. Jon was friendly, active and athletic at Kessler Elementary School. My family and I enjoyed spending time with Jon as a young boy. We were delighted in seeing Jon again when he married the love of his life, Hannah. It was apparent that he was such a loving father as well. Jon, who loved his family, loved sports and loved to cook will be dearly missed. God be with you and comfort you, Hannah, Lilli, Jaysen and Mike.
Marilyn Connor says
Rest In Peace sweet Jon. My heart goes out to Hannah, your beautiful children and Mike.
