Our beloved father, Joseph Lawrence Eckroth was called to Eternal Life, February 19, 2017. He was born in Mandan, North Dakota on March 4, 1929. Of the 12 siblings born to Mr. & Mrs. John Peter Eckroth, five remain. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Loretta, daughter Jean Brandt and two great-grandsons. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Pittenger, sons Ronald (Betty) Gludt, and John Peter Gludt; eleven grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Joseph was a decorated Korean War Veteran. He served on the Lake Side Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. He was a member of the Sheet Medal Union Local 103 for 50 years.
A Funeral Mass for Joseph will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 23rd at Saint Mary Catholic Community, 1700 Missoula Ave., with a committal service with military honors will immediately following at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Harrison.
