December 10, 1939 – November 15, 2018

Judith Ann Pepper went to be with her Lord on November 15, 2018. Judie was born on December 10, 1939 to Gladora Bell Shepard Jenks and Ernest LeRoy Jenks in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.

Judith graduated from Abingdon public schools in 1954 and married her sweetheart David Dirrim Pepper in June of 1957. They moved to Pensicola, Florida for a brief time. David was subsequently assigned, as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy, to Washington, D.C. They had three children, Kathi Lynne, Glen David, and Barbara Sue (Rotness). Judie went to work for various companies for 15 years until 1978 when she began a 20-yearbstint at the U.S.G.S. in Reston, Virginia. She retired from the U.S.G.S. in 1999. In 2002, she went to work for the Long & Foster Real Estate Company for 5 years. Following that retirement, Judie became involved in volunteer work in the Fairfax County, VA area. In 2015, Judie moved to Helena, Montana to be closer to her daughter, Barbara.

Judie loved reading, travelling, friends, volunteering, Church music, her cats, neighbors’ dogs and artistic endeavors.

Judie is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her parents, husband David Dirrim (husband), Kathi Lynne (daughter), and Glen David (son). She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Sue (David) and sister Sue (Don).

Dear Barbara and David – we’re so sorry to hear of Judie’s illness and passing. It was so nice to get to know her a little in person, after hearing about her for several years. And her work as a member of the Friends of the Montana Historical Society has been greatly appreciated. Spending her last years living close to you must have been so comforting. Our thoughts are with you. B&K

Dear Barbie, We are saddened to hear of the loss of your mother. She was such a big part of our lives when we worked at Kissel-Virginia in Reston back in the 70’s.
