February 3, 2025, Julieta “Julie” Chelini passed away peacefully of natural causes surrounded by family at Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana. Julie was 74 years old.
Julie was born in Batobalani, Paracale, Philippines on April 12, 1950. She was the oldest girl of Fausto Salem Era and Trinidad Opiana Era.
On June 29, 1978 she married the love of her life and immigrated to the United States where they raised their family while navigating their lives as a military family.
As a military wife she was the perfect partner to her loving husband. She took her job as mom very seriously. Anyone you meet would agree that she was born to be a mom. Every day she taught her children that life is more than the materialistic things. She inspired that life is about love having no bounds and that the most important things in life is to give and receive love. She would remind us that you never know what someone else is going through and that love helps heal all wounds or help those when needed most.
Julie was a loyal wife, mother, and friend to all, and she carried a presence of immense strength, compassion and love. Extremely family oriented and charitable. Humble and enjoyed the simple life. She was always happiest when surrounded by her family.
She loved to cook and share her meals. As a favorite past time to experiment in the kitchen, if you were to be a guest in her house there was always room for you and more food than you can eat. She is notorious of asking if you want more food and before you can decline she was already dishing you more.
Julie is survived by her husband of 47 years, George Chelini Jr.; their children, Tammie Era, Steven (Christine) Chelini, and Christine (Jordan) Seder, and their grandchildren Mason and Isabelle. Her siblings Willy Era, Aida Nacua, Sally Glovo, Gil Era, Josie Mueller, Emily Holley, and Eva Era. She is preceded in death by her father Fausto Salem Era and her two brothers Fausto Era Jr, and Wilfredo Era.
A celebration of her life will be held 11:00AM on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 1700 Missoula Ave., with a reception to follow the Mass at the church.
